I received a large box yesterday. But only got round to fully unpacking it today.
From a good friend.
I knew some of the itrms. But he did add a few extra items.
They are in the order I removed them from the box.
Purly for me to carry out some QA.
A Handgernade bottle.
A few lifting strops. They are not load marked. But will do what I plane for them.
A dead, very dead Aladdin 11 lamp. It will live again. They not only give off a lot of light. But a lot of heat as well..
Another one, the crumbs are what was leaking from the small bags uded to protect the next item.
He had used 15 of the bags.
He also used Fed Ex, you can tell. The glass on this item and the next is not broken.
This nice "Bristol Blue" oil lamp.
The packing bags were used to safeguard the contents from this.

Dated 1914.

Got me self a new saw...cost a bucket load of money but it's a lovely bit of kit.
Their track plunge saw is still my favourite though!...have to say dust extraction is excellent on all of their stuff.

Does the DCA1820 protect your batteries from going completely flat?
I bought something similar but it just seemed to throttle the battery power the more you used it.

Spare are nearly always available for them or 3D print if you have a printer .
Mine was my dad's WMB , it's nearly 50 yrs old at the time it was purchased the model had just moved on from cast alu framework to all pressed & welded metal ,
About 20 yrsa go I turned up new Alu handle knobs on my lathe and after lots of searching got not only new feet protectors but also 8 bench stops & a two sets of the plastic leglock bows and pins . ( I've still got three bows left from the purchase of eight . )
Made my own replacement top out of 25 mm HDF about 25 years ago , It get a yearly silicon greasing on the vice threaded rods & nuts etc.
I’ve found forgetting them out in the rain to be a bit of a bugger...

Not sure, I’m going to leave them separate when not in use as I did read one review saying it can sap the battery if left attached
Yesterday it was, but I aqured a new set of wheels, alas due to kahn and the change in my work my dear beloved landy is off, and a ford transit custom 340 trail MHEV (say that 3 times!) is replacing it, its only done 9k miles and is in a cracking condition but as lovely as it is hasnt the soul of a landy. (But warmer, dryer, more space, more comfort, more features, better mileage.... but no soul!)

Over Christmas I helped the mother in law clean out the workshop at her place. Her husband passed away a few years ago and I took the lathe, drill mill and other stuff, but there was a big polisher that has been sitting in the corner for ages and needed to go. I took the truck up with a load of firewood adn brought it back, along with some other stuff and a lot of rubbish.
Made a trolley for it and gave it a coat of paint. Not sure where it is going to go as space is a bit tight.

A brand new, still sealed Mitutoyo 2"-12"internal micrometer. I have absolutely no use for it but couldn't turn it down at £65.

Yes it is lovely! Congrats!!!
On my screen it looks as if the complete inside (apart from small flanged edges) is tinned, so definitely for cooking.

nice little machine, just build an enclosure and chuck the goggles away and get new decent ones from a reputable supplier as they are often not great. If you need any help with the laser stuff feel free to shout
Cheers. I'm sure I'll have some gormless questions soon enough. I've been trying to get to grips with drawing packages, mainly Fusion 360, so wanted a machine that would do something with the 2d sketches. I really want a plasma CNC but this is a cheap substitute to play about with. I can possibly cut paper gaskets out with it, or maybe model plane bits from 3mm ply at a push.

Today was another good day ...
... first something old:
A Starrett 246 planer gauge in the original - admittedly not quite shop-new-shiny - wooden box.
My copy came with a 1" and a 2" measuring extension and I notice that
a) uncleaned, dry, straight out of the box the measuring slide slides as if the thing was new,
b) where the surfaces are tarnished it looks not like rust but rather like when silver tarnishes and
c) that I could find no word for the thing in German
- it seems anyway not extremely widespread, if you take the number of yt videos about it as a measure - THIS one is informative ...
... and something even older:
A Starrett 360 universal bevel protractor, patented 1892 - still uncleaned but already running reasonably smoothly ...
... unfortunately without vernier - later versions have one.
... but also something new:
For the hydraulic cylinders on the front loader of the Unimog we had already bought a single face wrench, now another size was due - in order not to buy the next one shortly it became this time a small set with interchangeable pins, as well as others for replacement.
Because it was not much more expensive than the usual forest and meadow scrap I have rather taken one from AMF, Stuttgart ... although, ...
... with the threads of the pins and the holder, I'm not quite sure I feel the usual AMF quality ...
.... or am I too spoiled?
The box opens and closes well, feels good in the hand, the black areas are rubberized, but this sticker attachment - not that this has any significance for the functioning of the tool - would not have existed at the company AMF, which I know ...
... and a couple of cutters that I just need ...
... same consideration here too: If the price difference is so small, then I take them from Gühring.
