My new table saw which probably won't be used until the weekend due to the new job taking up what little energy I possess this week. Monday and Tuesday spent on an ADR training course for Hazardous Goods, some of which such as "Organic Peroxides" have frightened the absolute bejeesus out of me
, followed by today and tomorrow moving artic loads of straw hither and thither and punctuated by the other lads plying me with coffee, (they're a splendid bunch of guys but having been on decaff for numerous years coffee with caffeine has given me a banging headache 
), and my ADR exams on Friday have all contributed to me feeling a lot older than my 57+ years tonight *insert "ffs, my brain is shot to sh1t" smilie *
That looks perfect for big radius box.

A 4" tri clamp weld ferrule, blanking plate, clamp and seal, delivered for a tenner, no idea how they do it.
The plan is to weld the ferrule a brewing vessel, then drill and tap (or single point) a 2&1/4" bspp thread in the blanking plate to accept an immersion element. You can buy tri clamp heating elements specifically for brewing but they're about three times the price! This is also to check the quality of Chinese components before I buy a load more, I must say I'm quite impressed. I need to get a lot more practice welding before I can crack on.

I found a similar thing last month, been after one for years. So useful.
Well, the OH took it quite well, only pointed at "the list" (which is actually shrinking) for a minute or so, not sure what she was saying, wasn't really listening...
So, this thing is universal, has a swivelling table, so in theory I can make helical gears. I have a Cincinnati dividing head, but no, banjo or gear train. Are there other options or does it have to be gear driven to maintain synch? I guess as long as the speed of rotation and travel of the bed is correct all will be well?
Maybe need to get some delrin and have a play. (Once the machine is in days of work on its own).
Will start a new thread once its home..

I just acquired these, Amazon specials, not quite on a par with @Kram usual bargains but the stainless one was only £7 or so and the plastic one was £12 so under £20 all in.

Not a large one, but then I don't have the room that you do, Mat. But met a nice old chap who's into his steam models. He showed me a lovely traction engine that awaiting boiler certification. The larger one, in his living room, I didn't get to see.
