Fifty quid.

Sounds like a lot for some 40mm sq and a sheet of 10mm plate. The rest was "free".

I was hoping for a discount on finding the dirtiest odd sizes but I suspect he just measures it and the price is what the price says.

I guess I might have saved a bit on postage

To go with the £8 er40 chucks I got the other day from Amazon the collets arrived yesterday. I also got a couple of sets of the drill sets again while they are on offer at £5 and a set of 6-32mm open ended spanner’s for £6 ish

My neighbour just came over and offered his mower for free. Not a push jobby, but a serious Husquvana thing with the deck out front and a 15hp Kohler donk. Farts and bangs,then dies, when you try to get going and he thinks big probs, so has ordered a new one.
Personally, I reckon the carb is gummed up and told him so, but NO, he fancies a new one, so what am I to do? Collection is growing..I expect Mick Annick to be beating my door down But what does he know..?

Them collets are a bloody bargain I wish I didn’t already have a set plus doubles. I spent a small fortune on mine from cutwel

What actually happened was I went to a part worn tyre place to replace the punctured/ruined tyre (on my borrowed van!) and they happen to be right next to a scrappie.

I didn't think a couple of metres of 40mm and a decent chunk of 10mm plate was such a bad buy but I really need to be in sales mode now. Bought too much just because I have a van at my disposal.

Hang on a mo. Looking at some of the other threads with steel prices, fifty quid looks pretty good.

That 40mm square bar is typically £40 +vat per metre. He does also carry full lengths of bright steel so I deliberately dipped in the bins for these "offcuts" but I think he'll do a decent price for cash.
