Unexpected acquisition:
I saw a bit of pipe protruding out of the leaves on the forest floor behind our garage and tugged on it, to find that it was the base of an old fiberglass antenna that has been buried in the leaves for quite a number of years. To be more exact, it’s a 21’7”/658cm (including the base) tapered fiberglass 152.45 Mhz “Stationmaster” antenna, with a Phelps Dodge logo on it. I suspect that it probably has internal corrosion and is shot, but who knows...maybe it’s repairable. I might put an ad on the local Craigslist and see if I can give it away to a deserving home. Otherwise, it’s probably destined for the tip at the local trash transfer station.

It’s a bit too heavy for use as a fishing rod, and not tall enough for an impressive flag pole. Any re-purposing ideas before it goes away?

Got round to taking 4 cylinders in for inspection that I intended to take in last year only to discover that 8 of them are now out of test. 8 cylinders for visual and hydrostatic testing at £40 each = .

I have a mate who does that sort of thing for a living in Teesside...

Might have to make a couple from offcuts of ash or beech at some stage once I get the bandsaw set up and make sure the table and fence are square.

Coincidentally I dragged my little bandsaw out and got it running today. 6yo wants to learn to use it

It's mag mounted but I also have a hard mount jobbie in a box somewhere, brand new and unused
