Today I acquired...........

They go in a pipe threader.

They are similar to the dies that go into a pipe threader, but the ones he shows do not go into a pipe threader. First, because none of them are pipe threads (9/16 - 16 is standard BSF and left hand to boot) and second because Mr Alfred Herbert, of the AH initial inscribed upon them, was rather more well known for his Coventry die heads.

There is a book, called 'The book of the Coventry die head' that will help you identify which particular die head they will fit.

A bargain.

Imperial spanners and bits and bobs.

Two miles up the road, less than £20 quid the lot. He had to be forced to take it.

Quite a haul, don't think I need any more now.

Drain plug key, King Dick (what's that for?), and Elora brake wrench and Williams superslim brake spanner.

13 I suspect Whitworth spanners. A Britool Imperial spanner and 'Foreign'.

Elora, Bedford and West German.

Except the big Elora, all Geodore No' 2.

Elora 100 set.

Geodore No' 6 set.

And a solid toolbox earliest sticker on the other side dates 1972, so three years younger than me.

Trucks used to have level plugs on the diff and gearbox that needed one of those, I still have my homemade one

The " Let Your Fingers Do The Walking " sticker was from a television commercial advert for Pacific Bell Telephone. It promoted "The Yellow Pages", which was the telephone book for business contacts. I did construction projects for Pac Bell in the late 1970's.

When I worked for Farnell, we used to find "interesting" product names to pass around:
"Nut Spinners"
"Nipple Clamps"

Are the only two I remember (it is nearly 20 years ago )
