With black smooth hammerite.

Removed a few layers of paint with a blade.
Got a date, there is more details, hidden under more paint.


Another vice.

I've got one of those too. Annoyingly, it cuts no better than the Aldi one, although it has more capacity and the vice is a lot better.

Just need to find a source of decent, cost-effective blades for it.

That's a shame, I was hoping it would cut nice clean mitres

today I acquired .... loads more space!

all the stuff in the way in my workshop now has a waterproof home. and my garden is fairly secure, 6 ft fences both sides and sandwiched between the garage and house, so no worries there.

i cant put even a shed on that bit of garden cos the watermain goes right underneath it...

Today I received a beautifully packaged parcel, courtesy of @Wallace [many thanks, Mike ].

It was SO expertly put together it took me 20 minutes to break into it, and that with a very sharp knife.
He even fabricated a handle!

There's an art to it but a set of those in the left hand and a pickaroon (the short one) in the right makes quick work of picking up chord wood and you don't nip your fingers

Those are great tools! We call them hookeroons here in my neighborhood. I have a DIY version somewhere (I hope I didn't leave it rusting on the log pile).

about 2m stainless tubing , steel plate plasma offcuts , few bits of stainless square and round stock , few odd stainless pipe fittings and some mild steel lathe stock a plate and angle.

They have 24-7 right of access for maintenance, and would have the right to order me to remove said shed, or do it for me, in pieces then bill me.. in short, the deeds of my house have a easement that prevents me placing any building within 10ft of the water main, but a tent isn’t a building

That can't be a normal main that's just supplying your house then, is it the main for the whole area or something? What about putting a container on it and then clad the container in wood, it could be moved fairly easily with a 360 if they had to come and dig the main up.

Thats the name, couldn't think of it off hand, I had toyed with making one, but thought I'd just bite the bullet and buy the same make as all my axes.
