This morning I walked into the transport office of a big haulage company that we sub work from to be greeted by 4 good looking lads. I just couldn't resist this classic from Lloyd Bridges:

3 of them looked suitably bemused while the other one cracked up with laughter, which set me off and ended up with us trading one-liners .

Police Squad/Naked Gun, Airplane, Top Secret, Hot Shots - all brilliant I could watch them on repeat for days on end - my humour to a tee.

Today I believe I acquired several vintage footpumps. A neighbour just stopped by with three parcels delivered while we were out earlier.

A waterproof cargo net for the pickup. I couldn't find a quality one in the UK so bought it from the US via Amazon, added a few bob. Definitely not cheap but used it for the first time today, worked a treat.

Given it persists it down constantly up here in the Pennines, this holds stuff down securely and keeps it dry at the same time and adjust to small and large loads quickly. No struggling with straps and tarps, all in one. No idea why they are not available over here. I bet somebody now sends me a link to one in the UK much cheaper

Smallish lathe 550 euros .
Currently no money , space,or way to bring it home and a very long trip.
I'd bet it weighs at least 800kg

Top Secret, I remember finding that by accident in a video shop (remember them?) - on the sleeve it said 'from the makers of Airplane'. May as well give it a try, we thought. Mate and I spent the evening peeing ourselves.

Learning German on the train (it's mostly gibberish):

The Swedish Bookshop scene is great; somewhere on Youtube I found the 'backwards' version... and the priest reciting nonsense Latin on the way to being executed.

Been watching these for a while ....looks like it's on special so I took the plunge.

I monitor prices via a site called camel camel. £203 is about as cheap as this has ever been...was £279 yesterday .

Small garage means I've only got room for a small bench drill.

I haven't been through the whole pile, so you may find some of my dad's porn in there too

I have 4 or 5 large boxes of old Mechanical Engineering mags, I think they date back to the 1950s, possibly earlier. I haven't had time to look at them properly yet so not sure, but I do remember reading them as a kid, fascinating what some people did with very few tools.

For any savverners and cockerknees that don't know what the Pennines are, they're a range of hills that were created by God to keep riff-raff, undesirables, and general ne'er do wells out of his finest work that is the county of Yorkshire . (Oh be still my beating heart .)

And yes, it does persist it down, but only over Lancashire .
