not up with current prices in UK for pick up's.....
this is a 2004..ford...118,000klms.....they want €6,200 euro's....
how does that sound....?
if it were a Toyota it would be €10,000.........
PS, unless they've been on the beach they dont rot....
I look after a 89 Nissan and u can still see the orig paint underneath and undo all those soft bolts they used.....hahaha.....

Over here you could find a clean 2005/6 Ranger that hasn't been builderised or been parked in the sea for about £3-£3.5k and old snotters for as little as £1500.

What are these sort of tippers used for? Just wondering as something like a ranger will carry a tonne (ish) so with the weight of the tipper body and mechanism the amount of weight you can (legally) carry must be getting down towards wheelbarrow territory?

Mainly as @8ob said, I subby in for a few local forestry/arb outfits.
Normally a battle between taking a transit in and knowing you’ll have to drag it back out or handballing off logs at the end of the day.

Both aren’t ideal, they’re not ideal for chipping into as you never have as much cubic space as a transit with greedy boards but it’s horses for courses.

Was originally just going to put a flatbed on it for hauling but went with if putting the effort in, might as well go full whack.

Nice project. The truck well serve you well, those older Rangers were bullet proof. I fancy doing similar but to a Jimny

I have 51 plate B2500 double cab as a daily workhorse, taken rear seats out and put dog cage in and bit of tool storage. Been faultless in my ownership/abuse. Bodywork is rough but chassis is still mint thanks to previous owner looking after it.
Had 4/5 others before and they’ve been mainly trouble free too, one lost 5th gear, one started to overheat 3 days before it’s mot. Don’t think I’ve ever paid more then £1500 for one. Paid scrap value for the single cab, only needed front UJ and couple of little bits to pass a mot.

Was looking into putting a mini tray back onto a 98 vitara that my other half will be learning to drive in but didn’t seem worth the effort for no gain, probably would be fun tho

Some snaps of the Ranger gubbins, did this as a bolt in exercise so it could be moved to another truck if it lost its newness.

Only welding involved on the vehicle itself is a bit of angle iron onto the round tube behind the fuel tank to carry the back of the scissor ram frame.

The rest of the frame is 50x50 box and the scissor ram supports are 100x50 channel.

Tipper pivot is supported and tied in with the drop plate of the drawbar. Its as low as you can get it, again its all bolted in with no chassis mods

I always thought the rear axle was a bit too far forward on these disco/RR cab conversions, a 6x6 version would be more aesthetically pleasing on the eye

As long as its a bolt in conversion, you always have the option of moving it all onto a better truck at a later date. Only go for the scissor ram, there is no room above the axle or prop for a telescopic ram. Midland springs are my go too for beefier leafs.

Just bought a 2018 hilux King cab for my enduro bikes but going to modify my dave cooper hitch carrier onto it. (But braced up)

Completely agree these look weird.
But did see a disco 2 double cab pickup on a defender 130 chassis the other day. Now that looked awesome.

I really like the Kap Suzuki’s, can’t afford their prices. If I want one, I’ll have to build one.
