I know that TDR has solved the question (
) but one other suggestion if anyone faces this in the future; Do you have a tap and die set?
First off, my set actually has a set of thread gauges so you may have these without realising it!
If it doesn't, then gently try the closest visible matches on the bolt / socket and see which does the trick. You have to be sure, of course, that the tap/die isn't doing what it was paid for and cutting a new thread! Any hint of feeling "off" or any resistance likely means it's not the right match.
