Sorry dont agree, if they were any good, it would get used it more often.

What they are indented for is having something on you at the time and place to do the intended task.

Surely if you are doing a job you intend to do, then you take what is required. Not rely on a get out of jail card, that doesnt do anything well, apart from removing hard earned cash from your wallet.

Your talking about a perfect world shox. Either that or all your work is in a shop where your gleaming tool box is always less than 6 ft away.
Like I say there are many occasions where while doing that job you come across the unexpected. You go to remove a cabinate that should as you know it be held on with 4 x t40 torx bolts but the last plonker who removed it lost a bolt and chucked a cross head in there instead.
It's not always practical to have all your tools on you. I do a lot of site work so I know this all too well.

A multi tool doesn't solve all problems but it's got me out of a little jam or two.

The only time I've ever reached for one, is when I'm miles from anywhere on holiday, sat next to a broken bike, where I dont have the space to carry the right tools, more often than not its to bodge a fix, to get me home. And that about sums them up

I use a Gerber had it for about 15 years , handy thing to have in your pocket, truck, when camping or day bag when out and about walking the dogs ..the pliers on my Gerber are a bit more hand friendly than other multi tools I've used ... I've used it to free a Lamb or a young Goat from a tangle of fence wire a few times since I've lived here ... jeff..

I've had them bought in the past, no idea where they are now but not comfortable to use and the screwdrivers although they work they to are awkward to turn compared to a proper screwdriver but each to their own, I can't stand them

Of course people have these things. Your missing the whole point of it which is it's not what you have in your tool box it's what you don't have on your person at the time.
Mine has taken treble hooks out of a pikes gob when my forceps fell in the river. It's put a fairing back on my bike at the side of a road when I had a light spill a few years ago.
At work it's the only knife I need to carry as its better than most dedicated pocket knives. Like I say it's a very handy bit for what I do. I'm working a lot from scaffold and ladders. And the less I have on me sometimes the better. I own a huge tool collection and would always go for them first but sometimes the convenience of having a few useful tools in one pocket is a good thing. That's what they are about . They are not needed by everyone. But very handy to have for people like me doing what I do.

They never will be a substitute for the real tool.

I had a getber one, didnt use it that much, one day I did as I didnt have the right tools to hand....its now on the sea bed about 6 miles north east of whitby. Found the pliers with the square nose quite useful to be honest, and fairly hand fairly.

They dont float, do not have self inflating life jackets and a lanyard wasnt available, from my pocket.

seen as its an anything goes now, i got this one free when i took out a subsciption to LRO quite a number of years ago, it has performed many tasks during its time with me and is still in full working order, the thing i like is the pliers extend out rather than folding the handles back.

Few quids worth there.
The Mut is a very dedicated multi tool to gun servicing. Is it any good at that task? I assume that's why you bought it. I don't own or use Gun but I've often wondered if those mut tools are good for such things.

No, to me its absolutely useless :-) however the people that got it for me were a very special team and it means the world to me.. They said they had it engraved so I couldn't flog it on ebay :-)
