Not a leatherman. Coleman prolok, no longer made after a fight with leatherman. The idea was you could swap out the tool cartridges for others with different tools. Don't think other cartridges were ever made due to the legal fight with leatherman

Think there was only one model available when I bought mine in 1987, I have worn out a couple of cases though

You have got a cork screw , a cork screw would make my Gerber Suspension even more useful on the skiing trips.
(One year we won bottles of wine in a 'pub' quiz, took bottles back to our deserted chalet/hotel and had to rifle through every draw in the kitchen for a cork screw)

The current, a leatherman wave, and a CRKT rescue knife, lived in my PFD or grab bag for a few years, was sent to me by a friend in America as a Xmas gift and is a real tool, unfortunately for everyday carry it's a bit big and a bit illegal, annoying really but there you go

out of all the people on here less than 10 of us got leathermans

I've got an original Wave. Bought it in Jan 2003 at Gibraltar Barracks, when starting my Combat Engineer B3 course. Has been sent off once for a service and has survived Northern Ireland and 7 months in Afghanistan. The cases however haven't lasted. On its 3rd one now.

Also got a Super tool 2, which was issued to us in Afghanistan on Herrick 5 back in 2006.

Both tools live in my toolbox now.

I've had my Gerber for around 15-20 years now. It gets a fair bit of use, mostly light use, but still used. The only thing that's gone wrong with it is the little spring for the scissors.
Does anyone know where I can get the replacement spring?

When the belt pouch for my Gerber got a hole init , I emailed Gerber in USA to try and buy a new one ... I got a phone call from a woman in Gerber HQ asking for my full postal address in Crete so could post a new pouch to me free of charge ... so worth a try for a new spring for your scissors ....jeff

Just received a brand new Gerber Legend 800. Brilliant customer service.
The new one feels and looks slightly cheaper quality, isn't quite as heavy, smooth grip pads instead of textured but still, very chuffed.

Got myself another, well....you know how hard these things are to resist, and I even carry this one..

Damascus bladed, laser etched with my name, Leatherman Surge and hand made leather pouch.

Damascus blades are nice but always found them to take a good edge
