As some of you may have read, I'm having problems with my Transit, all evidence pointing to a faulty fuel pump. I don't really use the van that much and really only keep it for picking up large items from B&Q, Wickes, etc, so I'm thinking about ditching the van and getting/building a bigger trailer than I have.
I already have a 5x3 trailer which is OK for doing runs to the tip, but I want something I can carry sheets of 8x4 in, or maybe the odd 8' sleeper, so it will really need to be 8x4 internal dims, maybe a foot or so high - nothing too grand. My current trailer has independent suspension units and is build from 50mm angle iron, I was thinking I could just copy the design of that.
Anyone done this? Is it as simple as I've made it sound or am I missing anything - legal, safety, etc?
Will I need to get it inspected for roadworthiness?
Many thanks in advance.
