It seems the Irish Post deliver all my Amazon packages for ages now, and pretty damn fastly too. I think there's a mega-Amazon warehouse in the midlands, so it's an overnight delivery for a lot of that stuff.
Got no complaints about the Irish Postal service (well, I have, but that's due to the occasional organisational shortcoming, like any large undertaking), except almost without exception, the relief postie never puts packages through the door, always leaves them out in the rain, the divot.

Putting this here as a sort of notepad for things I see and think "That's unusual or unexpected" but are not worthy of a thread of their own.

Royal Mail has announced it will hike the price of first-class stamps by 30p due to "very real and urgent" financial challenges.
The increase, which will kick in from 7 October, will see the price of a first-class stamp rise to £1.65p, while second-class stamps will remain at 85p.

Royal and the Post Office are totally separate business? Perhaps they're going to help out the Post Office with it's impending lawsuits regarding Horizon and need the cash?

That was my thoughts
Some of the Horizon stuff happened pre-separation, so RM is likely to be found jointly culpable/liable I believe.
