Probably the same reason why the upstairs windows has a broken hinge, cheapest they could get and whoever installed it probably noticed it was bust but fitted it anyway as thats all they get paid to do.

Can you tell I'm a big fan of the crap rabbit hutches that developers churn out?

It's more than likely the DNO pushing to have them on the front of properties so they are readily accessible - if they are on the side of properties it only takes someone to stick a gate there and they can't get to it to read meter etc.

The previous house we were in was a Redrow new build. Never again. We had to refuse to Complete as snagging wasn't to our satisfaction. They had to rebuild the back corner of the house as the brickwork was so badly out of plumb, replaster 6 rooms and a whole host of other stuff.
Most people don't know any better and just accept it. As we got to know people round there and went round their houses i was lost for words at some of the workmanship.

Could buy a rabbit hutch tomorrow if I wanted or I can wait a few years till the wife's finished her degree and buy what we really want.
No brainier when I'm paying 700 for a detached with garage and big garden in a nice village

Some of the corner cutting I've seen would make your willy shrink

I'm been back to some sites that finished a few years ago because the roofs are leaking or they've got subsidence and the main contractors have to fix it all.
"Breeding pens" just about sums it up, the flats and some of the people in them!

in Russian prisons they put u in room where u cant stand up in Chinese prisons there that narrow u have to stand up and cant sit as a torture in Britain they put you in a barrats house and u can do neither the window on that house must have been a Friday afternoon . a poet job as for the service cabs they put them halfway up the wall so the meter guy doesn't have to bend down to read the meter

Looks like it is simply wide open, some strange double frame thing. The one to the left is the same, but with a broken hinge.

why did u crap yourself when she put the tumble dryer on and had a shower and it shot in to the red now u wont let her use them smart meters save b...ugger all dropping the kwh price does

The shower seems most expensive, and my young 'un spends 30 minutes in it......

Tumble dryer gets used once a week normally...... but I shall definitely be sticking a washing line in the garden once the shed is finished.
