The carpenters square from Toolman arrived and is as square as can be so happy days. I do use engineers squares occasionally however I tend to write on the wide blade of the carpenters square against marks of often used measurements for that project. Plus the metalwork tools should be on the other side of the shop, having two sets of squares means I have twice the chance of finding one 
silver line 3 jaw puller set. bought in desperation on weekend, the jaws are useless as the edge is very rounded so they just slip off, so you grind them so it'll grip, but them discover the thread strips before even reaching mild tightness.
Nielsen exhaust pipe expander. thread just strips off the bar you wind in to tighten it up, chouldn't expand a bog roll
Nielsen ratchet spanners- might be of use on plastic nuts.
ck speed spanners - they are just ouch, only thing for them is to cut the fancy end off and turn hem into stubys
silver line angel grinder - didn't make a morning

Its when you see that "Made in the republic of China" you just know your going to have a bad day....talking of fantastic tools,dont buy those electrical screwdiver sets from Aldi...i think the Asian form of hardening consists of putting the tool tips in warm goats milk.

I had a silver line drill bit bend nearly 90' and then straightened it, think they are professionally softened.
Can't think of a specific one of their products, but Silverline is now on my 'avoid' list.
Generally, if it costs a lot less than a reputable brand then it'll perform that much less well, I've learned that the hard way!!

I once managed to get a set of 4 Facom circlip pliers from prime tools for about £15 (I think it must have been a misprice as the next day it was back up to the correct price!) once - they were worth about £70 but to be fair they honoured the deal.

I've a set of reversible Blue Points I've had for 25yrs, and still going strong, they have replaceable tips as well.

Given that I am unlikely to drop on to a set of Facom for 15 quid I like the Blue points Dave . Especially if you can fit different size tips, I had difficulty getting an 8mm circlip on so I filed down some crappy ones I had to get the job done and vowed to get some decent ones for the next job.

yeah, handy for swapping out the tips, 90* cranked and Straight. They are about 25mm long so you can have them stuck out a bit for hard to get clips in recesses. I've fixed internal and external ones for bigger clips. and the ones that refuse to move.

Ha ha yeah, it was a bit of a one off and I didn't mean to sound like I was rubbing it in , but it might be worth trying prime tools, they sometimes have good stuff on offer.
Edit - they do most stuff exc vat so dont forget to add it on, if your not vat reg.

I always avoid sealy now, most of there products seem to be reboxed rubbish, can buy exactly the same tool for between a third and half the price and it's ether just as goo or just as rubbish as the sealy one and will look identical in every way except for the brand name printed on it
