Something I'd never heard of, my BIL has just had a 7 hour heart op is now suffering from "post-op psychosis" apparently he's seen dogs running down the corridors at the hospital and all the nurses go to the nursing station for a fag!, my sister isn't happy as they were not warned of this side effect of the op as she's found out it's quite common.

My wife tells me stories of patients seeing things. Odd what they see

January even on medication my bp was over 200
I’ve stopped medication for blood pressure and gone sugar free for two weeks. I’m stressed and angry but my bp just checked in at 150/100
Maybe if I continue and drop weight I can get it under control and just have the electrical issues

Last conk-out op I had I was conscious of the ward sister giving me the stink-eye and a dose of 'mind your tongue' when I came around. I don't know what I'd been saying.

Well the alternative is probably not great either, you cannot have things all ways up. If I was offered an operation to improve my heart, right now, I would bloody well move heaven and earth to get there. Sadly it is not possible.

The white drug you get injected with just as you are about to go into the operating theatre was developed by a friend of mine, they nicknamed it "Milk of Amnesia" :-)

I'd be surprised if the anaesthetist hadn't forewarned patients of all this.

From my understanding (25 years ago), before a general anaesthetic, you had a fairly comprehensive interview with an anaesthetist to make sure you understood the procedure, as not everyone is suitable for a GA (general anaesthetic), depending on your PMH, (past medical history).

Everything you recount is pretty standard behaviour / procedure.

Can't comment on the current state of the NHS.

I lost my sense of smell majorly, and I'm sure my memory has been affected by three bouts of covid. If it's not that it's maybe just my mind is bugg3red by age. One of the two.

I've noticed my memory is really bad lately after at least 2 shots of COVID...

My 'boss' and me too, we can't remember sh1t, sometimes he'll remember things about our fleet of boats, and I'll go 'really ?', the other day he asked me where was the cordless angle grinder ? I replied, we've never had one. His brain is as f3cked as mine. But somehow we shuffle through.
