How long was you on Prednisolone for mate?....i've had aching joints since my Rona jabs and recently started taking 10mg a day and its cured me, doctor wont give me anymore so i buy online from India and they come in a plain envelope within 10 days.I can attest to that with steroids cetainly. Prednisolone is the panacea for joint issues. but loosing calcium (teeth, bones) and a detached bicep later I'm off them and coping so-so.
Still takes my mind of my 'dicky ticker'...'Allo!..Allo!' Pacemaker due on 29th bionic then. Welding? Change to a knitting forum? Brass rubbing? Carpentry? Zeppelin repairs?
2 years on 20mg/d/ Tried coming off a number of times....very slowly 4 or 5th attempt made it.How long was you on Prednisolone for mate?....i've had aching joints since my Rona jabs and recently started taking 10mg a day and its cured me, doctor wont give me anymore so i buy online from India and they come in a plain envelope within 10 days.
Yes they are amazing that's why sportsmen and women take them for fast recovery after an injury, like everything in life it comes with a price as you have stated2 years on 20mg/d/ Tried coming off a number of times....very slowly 4 or 5th attempt made it.
They're bad news. My rheumatologist said ther's no such thing as a free lunch. Sister-inlaw was on 10 came off (slowly) symptoms back, then on 20 came off, symptoms back. Now she's on 40mg/d. We're all in 70's. They're not intended for long term use. They are immune suppressants also. Not good stuff. My problems came on suddenly at almost bang on 70. Crp 135! Suicidal with it. A year with no treatment. Stronger and stronger pain killers which caused other issues. Put on prednisolone and it was like being re-born. But not something for the long term. Got slight discomfort now for which I take Tramadol very occassionally.
PS still have to take Alendronic acid and Adcal for a further 2 ys.
PSS. slowly is reducing by 1mg/month max.
Smoking chocolate isn't harmful then?Oldest woman died recently, 122, 96 years as a smoker, 2 pounds of chocolate per week.
Smoking chocolate isn't harmful then?
I didn't, don't do selfies, don't do dick pics.
I've never heard of this, just about all my joints ache but I've never told the docs. Maybe I should chance the old bat on the reception desk and ask what might be going on!How long was you on Prednisolone for mate?....i've had aching joints since my Rona jabs and recently started taking 10mg a day and its cured me, doctor wont give me anymore so i buy online from India and they come in a plain envelope within 10 days.

Well enjoy it whilst you can, my mum's 80, and this is pretty certainly her last year, she didn't expect to see her birthday last October, she didn't expect to see Christmas last year, so now she's just enjoying every day.I have had a poop day at work... Got home and my 91year old Dad is at mine - wanting to take my two dogs for a walk. It is raining - Dad got wellies on and a shooting coat. We take dogs over the river bank - when we come home - I cook up 1/2kg of fresh sardines from Morrisons in a frying pan - wifey is out somewhere - serve it up to Dad and share it with him - open a bottle of red wine - Dad has half a glass. I walk him home - Mother aged 90 has been baking today. My eldest Brother is at our parents house visiting Mother.
Then it happens - Mum makes a pot of tea - Dad opens a brandy bottle and gets some small glasses. Mother sits me an my older Brother down at the kitchen table and starts feeding us - pastries and cakes she has been cooking. My Mother was a good cook - no really a very good cook - but what we were eating - were cooked thru OK - but lost the "fit or finish" of a younger woman. Plate ofter plate - me and my older brother just "absorbed them" - ate them as good little boys should.
I had a nice time....

Cancer eh, never smoked, hardly drank, she's beaten cancer 6 times in the last 25 years, but not this one.
Enjoy the time you have with them is what I've learnt.
Water retention will be the Amlodipine, joint pain will be Atrostatin - see if you can try Ezetimibe, it's a 2nd line medication, usual without the side effects of statin.Since I've been on the Ramapril , and the atrostatin and amolodopine, my legs are retaining water , my knees are aching and I feel worse now than when they started me on it all , I'm going back to have a word when I get a chance !
She has - heart failure and constant bleeds on the brain after a fall which causes bruising that looks like she has been in the wars.
I am on really powerful blood thinners now so I bruise like a peach. My arms are covered in bruises (4 jaw chuck mostly) I told my missus she best be careful because if the Police see them there will be questions. The reply - "I will just tell them it is defensive wounds"!
Yipes...thought warfarin was bad enough. I'm on aspirin now. Had my meds reviewed. Will be put on the diabetic med for it's heart therapy effects later on. Lot of info on the web. Can't think of it's name.Mum aged 90 on high doses of 120mg Edoxaban (Lixiana) daily.
She doing OK - but black and blue - also high risk of stroke if she miss a dose (has this been explained to you?)
