That's definitely getting up there, so I'm glad to hear that you're doing something about it.I was at 170 / 180 over 120.
So if I wished to join the club does anyone have any recommendations for a home pressure tester?!
Yes, I pulled up the same page. Worrying, that's for sure.
I've not checked mine for a long time, but it was normal then. I'm well over weight, drink too much, but I was at the gym yesterday afternoon and felt normal. Treadmill, rowing machine, weight machines for an hour or so.I have been pottering along at 135/80 ish for 12 months, but the last week or so I am seeing 150/90 consistently. I have changed to a different, new unit so perhaps it has been that all along? I will have to do a comparison with the GP if I can get in there!
I could do with some weight loss too. I have been pigging out over Christmas and find it hard to resist the crap that her indoors keeps buying. I have asked her not to, but she largely lives on crap.![]()
I'm 63 in a month. The above chart doesn't really take into account your age for a 66+ a reading of 134/87 would be normal![]()
I drink far too much, and stress about that, but I eat reasonably sensibly.@Morrisman has anything changed for you?
Drinking more alcohol
Eating things you shouldnt
STRESS?
i put the last in bold as it really is the biggest thing that raises BP

I used to snore like that for years, it was only when I lost a lot of weight did the snoring stop and better sleep was the result.I'm 63 in a month.

If I don't drink, I can't sleep, as what I think is my own snoring starting off wakes me up with a shock. Repeatedly. Seen GP four times, different person each time, and all I gained was some anti anxiety tablets and a load of blather. If you're not dying, they aren't interested.
Im a heavy drinker takes me a week at least to be able to sleep when i stop drinking.I'm 63 in a month.

By which time, it's too late.If you're not dying, they aren't interested.
I've lost huge amounts of weight several times in the past, and really enjoyed the great feeling it brings... but time passes and I slowly slip into the old habits, and the weight eventually comes back.I used to snore like that for years, it was only when I lost a lot of weight did the snoring stop and better sleep was the result.
My food intake is really tough to stick with though, low carb (no bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, crisps, biscuits, cakes, sweets, chocolate etc). And only eat between mid day and 7pm.
Only carbs are booze, Friday to Sunday.
Life is tough but at least the snoring stopped.
