Manufacturing a new engine on an automated line is a whole different proposition to receiving, cleaning, stripping, measuring, reworking, building and testing an old engine - for one it's labour intensive on such a comparatively small scale - and TBH, it's a sellers market. £2.5k isn't that bad - not a cost I'd want but I can see that being financially invested in the vehicle means there's little option but to keep spending.I've had a customer enquiry about a
1.0L Ecoboost a couple of days ago - so I cast about for parts, whether complete cyl heads were an option etc.
I found there are recon engines available - but one will cost a punter a good 5x what they cost Ford.

Keep Scotland seeking independence , if that how you motor trade people run their business . At all costs please keep them away from the rest of the UK .
