I first though of this when I saw the title.
Having said that Pete the knee is nearly to the top , It has the big extension collar on it makes it a lot taller
...It's interesting that the cutter must also be at a speed that is a) fairly slow certainly for aluminium and b) a multiple of the camera frame frequency as in your video it appears to be stationary ?!
thanks, never watched a milling cutter gif before,His moving picture is exactly that - an animated .gif file that is somewhat like a stop motion animation. It is not a true video so it will have some strange visual effects
I'm very new to milling , I just wanted to see it cut , I will adjust the knee and leave the quill in as much as possible , speed was slow , not sure of speed exactly ! As the title of the post first cut , worked for me !The quill being right out will increase the vibration, you will see it more if you are cornering a pocket using the cutter rad as the corner rad. it's interesting that the cutter must also be at a speed that is a) fairly slow certainly for aluminium and b) a multiple of the camera frame frequency as in your video it appears to be stationary ?! just out of interest what spindle speed are you using ?
I'd say 8 to 10 inch , it is a big one !Very good, how tall is the riser block? It looks tall.
Have you not seen it in my other thread ?You not going to post a piccie of your mill.
Like a certain Tory MP, on a tractor search, I like pics of milling machines.
I sang that as I set the machine running lol
