Looks like an absolutely cracking job - some anthracite carpet glued to the OSB would help reduce the reverberation time within the room and be a cheap acoustic help. You can get some pretty cheap ‘event cord’ which is a single ply product and would stick well but ‘softens’ the wall.
I had a chat with an old friend of mine, he was my best man. When he left uni, his first job was training as a sound man for the BBC. He recommends concentrating on one wall, the flatest one.
I didn't get chance to see if the panels help today I underestimated the time needed for the amount of cabling. 8 speakers, power and HDMI to projector, antenna, networks both wired and wireless. I just about finished making off the CAT5 with RJ45 crimps and tested it before calling it a day. All speakers now wired up so after a bit of a tidy up and installation of the switch/WLAN box it will be play time
