The good if that's what you can call it.
Flat out round Gerrards at Mallory Park, feel the engine nip and just get the clutch in before you're launched into space.
The bad: a rebore, New piston rings etc because you forgot to aneal the ##$&¿*y copper head gasket!

I used to race 125 long circuit superkarts. We (my dad) had invested in a very expensive pavesi engine to go on my tony kart. It was all ready to go. Being eager my brother and I took it to the local short circuit track to test (dad was at work) any way I cold seized it withing seconds. I wasn't very popular for a weeks after that. Realy hurt my chest too, had a bruise the shape of the steering wheel.

......a full road closure, there's a crowd watching expectantly, all the wires are disconnected, all bar two foundation bolts removed, the slings are tight, and the 50 feet tall mobile phone aerial mast is ready to lift off of its' foundation.
The rigger says "take some weight", and I give the Hiab a squeeze. Up comes the mast, all of 1 inch, then goes solid. The rigger says " go on, give it some". I say " it's solid. Have you taken all the bolts and washers of?" He says " do we tell you how to drive your crane?". Repeat three times, and I'm being referred to as a ladies' "downstairs". Me : " has anyone unbolted the earth strap?"
Cue one very embarrassed rigger unbolts the earth strap
. Surprise surprise, up comes the mast.....

I did that only with derv last week. A mate had fitted a new cylinder head on the engine of a cherry picker but failed to fit the fuel pipe! The diesel was running to the middle of the machine so I didn't notice until about 10 litres worth started to run under my boots!!!

NoHairyou're a learner to tig welding and its ages since you've used one, and you think that DCEN stands for Direct Current Earth Negative instead of Direct Current Electrode Negative.......beause you do more MIG welding and that has an earth clamp but not an electrode (I guess the mig wire does that though)

You've spent all day working on your rally car. It's 11pm and you decide to load it onto the transporter ready for leaving early Sunday morning for an event. When strapping the car down you notice a strong smell of petrol. Its that moment that you realise that you ripped a hole in the plastic fuel tank while loading it.
Then you try to empty the tank as you've just put in 20l of fresh fuel at £1.30 per litre and it's now running down the street. You get the tank emptied and it's that moment you remember that you sold your spare tank and the only other one is still in the spares car you have yet to strip, probably another 3 hrs work.At this stage you give up, lock the garage & turn your attention to the 6 pack in the fridge.
When I serviced for my mate we spent all week getting the car ready for a rally, Friday night we loaded the car and the vans ready for an early dart in the morning, only to get a phone call saying we desperately need some spare drive shafts.. Que me saying, it will only take an hour to get them off the donor car.. My mate left me to it, the wife rang me at midnight to ask where i was, then came over in her car to provide some lights as all the worklights packed in, my mate gave me a wave as he set off for the rally and I was still trying to get the bloody drive shafts free from the suspension.. In the end I took them off at the turret and drove them over to the rally... only to find the had retired with an engine fault...

your welding an exhaust and set the layer of sawdust on the floor on fire and your friend grabs the first thing he see's that looks like water, a gallon of brake cleaner and throws the whole thing over the fire gettin a good bit of it on your legs aswell igniting them too

Me and my business partner both had BMW 5 Series Touring as our work vehicles, his had reversing sensors and mine didn't. I went abroad on holiday so he borrowed mine while his went in for a service, you can guess the rest!When the phone rings and you know the missus has pranged the car..
I have just received that call, nothing major, she only hit it 'cos the reversing beepy thing doesn't work
