As for sharing? no problem. I felt that with all of the help and guidance I have received from this forum, it was the least that I could do. If my thread helps others, as previous threads and members have helped me, then it will have been more than worth while.

In all seriousness though cracking job on the restoration! Only just found this thread today but I am feeling encouraged and re-energised to crack on with my rusty MX5 project. If I can get even close to your level of workmanship I will be very pleased. An otherwise boring afternoon at work has flown by too so many thanks for that! Can't wait to get home and crack on this evening.

Was hoping to get mine back to being drivable again in a matter of weeks, I am not aiming for an MOT initially though so I think I will just work towards closing up what I have exposed and leave the rest for next winter. My car is trailored around mostly at the moment anyway.

Just one question: Could anyone tell me the best place to buy this fancy Bilt Hamber dynax s50 stuff that everyone raves about? I am going to need a fair few as I have an MX5 and now the old man's XK8 to deal with!

Hi there, I think Bilt Hamber only sell direct, they have a web site, bilthamber.com I think it is, you will find it on google. I've used the dynax, it's very good as it comes in a large aerosol with a 2 foot injection wand. I've also found the electrox Galv. Primer very good for covering welds. Neither are cheap though.

Good luck with the MX5, I've got an early Eunos that comes out in the summer. My wife thinks its hers, but she's wrong!

Redwine, spent all evening reading your thread in awe of your achievements. Seriously humbled regarding your thin metal technique. Been restoring motors on and off for years but usually running repairs whilst on the road or when then mot man has been a bit keen. Lol. Usually too impatient to try this technique and end up doing runs then blobbing.

Thanks for your kind words, I am glad that you have gained inspiration from what I have achieved. It was posts similar to mind that gave me the courage to have a go myself. As for your MX5, I really do like them. Hopefully my exploits will help you figure out your approach to similar areas of repair.
Would be very interested in seeing it progress, will you be running a thread?
As for the Bilt Hamber products, I found them to be brilliant, albeit a tad expensive.

But please, if the integrity of this forum can be maintained, how can such a blatant abuse go unnoticed?

To be honest I am quite good at reading between the lines as my wife has dysphasia , but I think you have me beaten.

I am not sure why you would be upset by the number of views your post have most posts only get viewed when they are being added to . Dont forget a great many of us are old and senile and can not remember what day it is let alone what was in each post.

To the OP:

If I am correct you have not for various reasons kept this thread active but you expected others to do so, ensuring you have a high number of views and instead of that it has been 'sullied'

The forums integrity is in doubt and we mods have not noticed the blatant abuse.

You have further postings you now feel reluctant to do so due to the above mentioned failings.

If you feel you are unable to continue with the thread I am more than happy to lock it if you wish.

I will say however it is a shame you have taken this attitude, your thread was good but of no greater value than a lot of others on the forum and some members do and have done multiple threads for years.
