No fun when you don't have the time and/or inclination, is it. Mine had barely seen me for the last couple of years.



Just a sniff. Too much, and it'll only be flung out anyhow.

I use a small paint brush and put a light smear on the scroll and the jaw slides roughly once a month. I don’t use it everyday and it always seems to move freely enough. Most of the little jobs I do require removing from the chuck mid job so my 4 jaw is more in use and oiled more often

My chuck had a complete strip down and clean. It's like new inside with no wear at all. It had a good coating of oil. It moves very nice .A very well engineered chuck. When it's not used I move the jaws in and out. Am now watching a four jaw Taylor chuck.

I used grease inside my Pratt Burnerd 3jaw self centering because there's no way swarf can get inside, the scroll is driven underneath, completely sealed.
