Stainless and titanium work harden and gall up very easy. It's important to use decent cutting compound with it
I find stainless the worst to tap
It is , where i used to work we used stainless exclusively , i seen more than a few 6mm taps broken off in holes. In fairness blunt taps normally squeak loudly in stainless , so you're asking for trouble continuing.I find stainless the worst to tap
That's something I try to avoid like the plague. It's right up there with aluminium on my list of stuff I try my damnedest to avoid using.
