I'm not a stickler for original colours. I look at it as once paint is applied, originality is lost regardless, so no point using a colour which you can't personally stick when you have to look at it day in day out.
I settled on Mid Brunswick Green and Wine Red quite a while ago, both to keep consistency between things plus they're classic type colours, so fit well with the ages of the equipment.I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap, and it'd likely retail for a bit more than listed in the image below, of around $8 to $10.
That bottom vice does look a ringer for it, doesn't it. Even has the same name, The Perfect.

Just need new screws for the jaw inserts and then she'll be done.

Cheers. Yeah, I'm buggering up my reputation with that one. Should have taken a few more weeks on it at least. It honestly just didn't need owt doing other than cleaning and painting, for a change, so all of the time consuming stuff could be dispensed with. It's amazing just how quickly a job goes without the derusting, having to figure out subtle ways of repairing something without replacing original bits if possible etc. goes. Working on something which hadn't been abused to within an inch of its life made quite a change.

Decided to get one of the little vices sorted which I've had knocking about for a year or two too. It's not a precision thing, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it was one of those which caught my eye for some reason. Jaws are probably only 2" if that.
Just need to sort a couple of pins to replace that screw and bolt, and that one'll be done. Not been able to find any reference to Baugh & Moss whatsoever, upto just. Handle now moves freely on it too. It was locked solid with rust and old grease before.
This is another one on the todo list, when it arrives.
Had just enough quirkiness about it to merit a place in the unusual vices collection. An old 4" Soderfors. Apparently they were better known for their anvils and leg vices. Only been able to find two references to the above style of vice so far. Took a bit of a chance on that one, as I've no idea what they're like for quality or sturdiness of build other than by general reputation, which seems good.
I should have named this thread "Matt's weird vices".

Fretters, yup. 
I use MattF for English forums, but use my surname derived username on the Yank sites nowadays as a lot of the time MattF stands a chance of being taken. It also became a pain in the jacksy trying to remember what suffix I had to use on different sites due to the username already being taken. When you keep having to enter your e-mail to get a reminder of what username you had to pick, you know it's time to pick something fairly unique and consistent. Btw, I blame you for this recent vice fetish. If you hadn't posted a photo of your vice and I hadn't gone and seen that vice thread on GJ, I'd be almost vice sane now.

Good choice.
1 Record, 2 Woden, 2 Parkinson, 1 Swindens, 1 Soderfors (when it arrives), the little Baugh & Moss and then about three miniatures, I think. One of those is only a cheap import jobbie though. Then there's the little Record pillar drill vice and a little Taiwanese X Y pillar drill type vice. Plus, just realised how sad being able to list that lot from memory is.

If there getting some use that's fine, if there not... well...
I currently only have 3,
Toolstation vice, needed for the one small job.
Small cheap swivel for ease of use with filing/ rounding off little things.
Then the record 52 which has been getting a fair bit use lately.
Could possibly do with a 25 or similar as with me starting to weld and cutting pipe and steel plate im hampered by 52 sitting flush to workbench... Starting to prepare my small garden ready for a small workspace... woodwork mostly... so would have more room for it.

If you're into woodwork too, one of the Parkinson wood vices would probably be to your liking. Quick release and built like bricks. Only drawback compared to the 52 is that they don't have a dog on the front.
With regards a metal vice, prices on Ebay seem to be decent at the moment. A lot of them are going for reasonable money. Parkinson/Samsonia, Record, Paramo, (same as the Records), Woden and Fortis are all good old brands to look out for. I've seen quite a few recently which have sold for little compared to what they're worth. A lot of metal for little money.
