I have SS plumbing in the mobile - all compression joints though, and all tighter than a penguin's chuff. I suspect there may have been a recommended tightening force which wasn't as low as copper/brass joints. Of course, they're all Imperial, which makes getting them to re-seal a bit problematical, as I have a shortage of olives. The usual bodges worked, though.British Steel decided that there was a market we were missing out on....plumbing....if the pipes were stainless steel we could get some of that market....the problem was that SS couldnt be soldered easily like Copper......the answer....glue it....so they joined with Loctite to make SS plumbing........we made loads of 15mm pipe and various joints that could be glued on.......well you can imagine what would happen when various workshops full of young lads were given gallons of various "experiments" of superglue......everything was stuck down.....cups of tea, kit kats, pens, books, shoes, overalls.....anything........management got involved when toilet seats were targetted.
It never really worked.....too many leaks
