SBK works on growing stems / leaves only, use cardboard to shield stuff you don't want affected. works on my unwanted brambles / blackberries

We (myself + a few passing mates) have been working for more than 2 years to get rid of brambles in the overgrown hedges.
Best way we have found is to pick an area and loosen the soild so you can get the roots out.
It's back breaking work but the results make it worthwhile.
We had some climbing triffid thing with a stem thicker than my wrist at the side of the house, cutting that just above ground level, drilling 1" holes into the stump and filling them (salt? caustic soda??) has killed it off nicely.

If you are only dealing with the stumps drill them and push in a couple of ecoplugs.

Yeah the brambles are massive, 30mm diameter and over 20 foot tall. There's a couple of Alders (I think) that need sorting out but I'm worried the chemicals will harm the Acer tree nearby.

Very difficult to get rid of as the roots are hard to kill. We usually use a systematic selective weed killer like Grazon Pro or Pastor, but these need to be sprayed on foliage. They are expensive, but anything that works is expensive. SBK stumpkiller might work, but you will likely still get suckers. Unlikely to harm the Acer unless you get it on the foliage.
No point in digging that big root out, as if any at all is left, it will regrow. Nature always wins in the end, resistance is futile. When Armageddon comes, all that will be left, will be cockroaches and brambles.
I came up with the idea of injecting the stems with a hypodermic syringe to see if that works. Maaaan.

Although I've never had to deal with a stump that big, I've found you need to get the root out or cut below ground. If you cut the stem above ground they just grow again from the cut unless you crush the end which stops them dead. If you can make a hole in the stump, put a strong mix of Epsom salts in the hole, Epsom salts is used as a fertiliser, but a strong mix is a weed killer.

It wound it's way up through the trees, left untamed by the previous owners, then we left it for a few more years, (7
)So far 10 dustbins full of brambles and the end nowhere in sight
You can see the Acer hidden in there.
