Don't know if it's been done before, but I thought I start a thread to show those little paint jobs not worth a thread on their own but maybe worth a post.
So today I gave the fan cover from a motor on a hydraulic power pack a bit of a ,make over.
It's a quality item with thicker steel then usual and the powder coating was pretty good as well.
I started with this -
Not awful, but no point it letting it get worse.
After a quick blast
And the other side
I left the bits of powder coating that wanted to stay on the inside because I didn't need to feather it in.
After two coats of Sherwin WIlliams epoxy primer
And two coats of PPG Delfleet top coat I had left over. This was matte finish which will be fine for the job.
You can still see the rust pits, but as this was a wet on wet job, it turnned out pretty much as expected.
