no legal requirement. the truck is mine, only i touch it, and i intend to stick a bit of chain through the wheel carrier to stop thievery.

the spare is a reaction to getting shafted by a tyre fitter when i had a blowout.

tbf, the batteries are just as accessible, and if a tealeaf where going to steal something, it would be them.

the spare will be mounted permanently.

Today I made a start at clearing the garage , although this wasn't stuff for throwing , I got out all the bits of bags of scrap of the last 10-12 bathroom jobs and started separating

there's four bags of taps mixers and fitting and two more of the clear bags of copper , took a few hours to do I reckon 80+ kilos of heavy brass and probably 40+ of copper we'll see what the scrap man says tomorrow and I'm glad it's out the garage . Now to keep on clearing

Easily £500+ I'm guessing so get yourself some new toys for the garage!

After 5 or 6 primer coats (most of it went up the dust collector!) I started on the colour on the lapsteel body yesterday with a very thin coat, flatted 95% of it all off this morning and put two coats on this afternoon. This is Old English White which I'm sure a lot of you will remember from the days of BMC and the Mini-Cooper. I got a local car paint place to make up a couple of spray cans. I'm no painter, and I'm sure someone with more skill can do better, but I'm fairly pleased. I'm not sure whether it's good enough yet though - I think there's enough on to withstand some abrasive polish (after it's really cured maybe next week sometime), but I'm tempted to flat it back again and do another two or three coats. I'd love an opinion from one of the experts here.

The chain s were usually bolt cropped or the locks were depending on the size of the metal .

I spent the day fitting new blinds to every pain of glass on our new windows that were fitted on the wettest day of the year, 16 blinds in total now my gout ridden hands are totally knackered.
