I made a mast/life raft holder today, not finished but got the bulk of it welded up. A welding table would have been easier but I don't have the room so my vice has to do.
Radar plate welded on, just have to weld the mast pole and weld the light and aerial brackets on and then I can place on the wheelhouse and scribe for the feet. Also a mackerel stripper box I made yesterday in the background.

Had a sort out of workshop pc and gave it more grunt for CAD work with a uplift then made some shelving from leftover 2020 and 2040 profile to organize above my poor mans surface plate (its a old cast iron machine table, but accurate enough for most work) & a lot of 3d magnetic targets for 3d scanning, need a drink to recover from putting 3mm dots on newly printed targets but its a lot easier to do larger objects with the tall markers because you can "walk" up the spots on them to get to the high bits.
Did also repurpose a powered lazy susan I use for resin curing as a scanning turntable. Now to get that spare bare 4.6 rover v8 block scanned so i can make up some fixturing to hold it in the cnc

Not a 'made today' although I did post the raw steel pic when it was made. Torch 1/4 is installed now, the handle and electrics were done by my father while I was doing the metalwork.
Torch basket is made from 30x3 flat bar throughout, mounts are 30x3 flat bar welded to make a 60x60 swuare and 12mm solid round rolled into 55 and 30mm ID rings, and some 12x1mm wall tube to pass cable though on top mount. The 'rivets' are upholstery nails

Today I made a 3d model from my spare 4.6 rover v8 block. I will tidy it up a few places and convert it into a format usable in cad rather than a point cloud and extract some geometry to make some fixtures to mount it in a machine to top hat it next, but also tempted to scan some heads and rocker covers and front covers of different versions and I can mess about in cad making a mixup of a later serpentine motor with early appearance and single vee drive to confuse the rivet counters.

We'll it's layed down in submission so it must be ok
We'll see how it fluffs up over the next day or so, think the tractor needs some steering work as its very wandery and difficult to keep a straight line

I wouldn't mind but the lens was fine when I changed it in the above postBroke the camera lens glass on my Chinese special phone, ordered a pair on ebay from China and 3 pairs turned up
Only shows 2 1/2 pairs in the photo as I've fitted one to take the picture

Well not today but yesterday, Reinforced a safe door, although the safe was of the required British Standard, "someone" and we can all guess who that was, thought it insufficient so wanted it strengthening, now I am off to see if my truck bed spray paint will work
