That's the delight & beauty of being involved in engineering repairs , most days are totally different and require a lot of different processes & critical thinking to get a decent result .

Imagine how hacked off you'd be changing the four hundredth Landrover Discovery gear box etc . It's one reason I volunteered for all courses and adventures going whilst in HMF . I could do Landrover gear boxes ,. engines and brakes etc in my sleep after 2 yrs of playing with them .

Last day in the workshop for 3 weeks today, so doing a few odds. Knocked up a couple of pipes ready to go inside a tank, all polished out and borescoped. Looks like I forgot to tag one weld


And finished off yet another trammel bar setup when I got home... simple one. Pen holder, centre and bar joiner. Think I've done 5 or 6 sets now.

Made some sawdust and tiny bits of stripped 150 mm long Pozi-drive screw heads today .
I've finally got the new roof void access hole done in the right place in the right dimensions screwed together with 150mm long Spax wood screws , two screws at each join after having to make a protective masking block to pop over cables so I didn't drill ot screw through the cables and fitted the plastic collar. Next step is to lay roofing battens along the truss base timbers and then screw on around 130 off 1000mm x 500 mm double layered 12mm thick chip board to board out the whole roof void including covering over the old trap door hole which is 2 mtrs wide by 32 mtrs long then put the new insulation in place . When all that is done , a lick of light green cheap floor paint on the chipboard and fit the lid .

Then it's sort out seven new to me internal doors and re- screed the hallway floor in readiness for a new carpet as the current one is almost 19 years old /

good job the blade wasn't sharp , we'd been cutting fireline and sound block boards so the blade was hammered . It took a nano second and there was plenty of claret , No hospital so I'm not in @doubleboost s club yet

Slow steady progress on my Camper conversion. I've got all the DC & AC cables run into place, mounted the batteries, and got the Mains Hook-up, the AC Dis Board and the DC Dis Board fitted and connected, and the Battery Charger working.
Also got my overcab storage & loo cubicle lighting hooked up.
A long way still to go, but it's coming slowly.

All DC, no AC. As I have dual 110A batteries, a Split Charger & a DSE 5A AC charger, all will be 12vdc LED.

As for specifics it's not in stone yet - but there will be under-cupboard lights over the sofa & of course for the galley, with one main central light on the ceiling is the most likely scenario.
( I have a 1.5mm pair feed in place for proposed roof fan, so I can tee off that for the ceiling light & sofa downlights, USB charge points etc. While there's another 1.5mm feed in place for the galley cupboards in place).

What are you going to do with the spare wheel ?

Irritatingly my van came with no spare (typical council van - it'll have been dumped in the depot as they'd never change a wheel just call out).
So I have to source one s/h.

Only sensible place I'll have I suspect is to mount one on the rear Nearside door - so that'll need me to weld up a triangulated strengthening frame on the inside somehow, piggy-backed off the door hinge mounts for strength.
(Door itself is properly flimsy thin Tinfoil stuff, so it'd need beefing-up).

I could go without & carry a plug kit & some squirt like I did on my motorcycle tours - but its not that far up my list atm - it's on the back-burner
