Roller Box time again, took a couple hours to get it right but then produced some good "blanks":



Snag is it is titanium and I am taking a little more than 3.5mm a side, coming off in ribbons and if you are not careful you are scrapping the part, 75mm in one single cut:




There is quite likely an easier way of doing these but I cannot think of one.

Also ran aggressive chipbreakers on a removable insert above the cutter inserts to make sure nothing got to the ribbon stage. Then a lick on the face to get rid of the four thou step when done.

Made some Lobster gauges today as I was running low on stock. Decided to make a logo up for them and just etched it into them with the laser.
I will also offer to etch the boats name into them for a wee bit extra

Also decided to see how Titanium would etch with the laser, came out ok, will try some different settings to see if I can get different colours.

Good idea. It'll help the lobsters in returning them to the correct owner, when they get lobbed overboard.

As I recall, he mentioned a while ago that the sizers tend to get lobbed into the ocean instead of the lobster.

Yes, they occasionally throw the gauge overboard and hang onto the undersized lobster, then they swear a bit

Yes, definitely. Used to do similar when I was at the Cod fishing, you would keep ahold of the guts and throw the knife overboard

Removed the last bit of bay laurel and chopped to firewood/kindling sized lengths. No idea if it burns well.. I read that the smoke may be slightly toxic? I'll only be burning outside.

Katsu saw did a lot on one battery! If only it had the proper safety features I would recommend it..

Used an old motor bike top box from the 70's as the basis of my VW van lock box, a clean up and aging with a VW logo worked just right

I noticed other Vauxhall bits on my Alfa 75 (like the sun roof) so the collaboration went back far further.

My Alfa loving mate was taking the **** out of me last night for owning 5 Vauxhall's (a diesel Zafira cured me totally of that) he has a few 75's!
I'm gonna have me some fun next time I see him
