Today. I fitted the ram and brackets on the newly installed bulkhead. A tosser of a job. Unfortunately I had to cut the studs down a little to get the brackets over the studs. Everything runs so close. The top two studs are a little short and not protruding through the nylons. Not happy.

You've created none self-locking nuts there. Could you skim a little off the rear of the nuts to allow sufficient bolt to engage fully?

Yes I know. Its a pain as I didn't want to cut the stud. I can skim the nut down. Will try that.

thinner washers would also help a little those are quite thick

You can get half nuts with a locking device on them. It’s a metal version of a nyloc. Can’t remember the name.

Could stake the nuts I suppose.

Or crossdrill and wire lock but if access is bad then maybe not….

You can even get single use all metal nuts that have one end slightly crimped to be smaller than the other and are usually the standard thickness . they also stay tight.
An example is a lot of modern caravan wheel bearing retaining nuts are such devices.

Today I made SWMBO scream and not in a good way...

(First time for everything I suppose )

I had the dishwasher lent back and had to get underneath to refix the front panel. Asked her to steady it so it didn't come down on my head. The door has to to open, hinged down, to get the front panel on. As the whole thing was lent back the door closed at a fair rate of knots into the 4 fingers of her right hand.

Don't think anything's broken but tba.

I made all the ironwork: latch, handle and hinges. Only welding was to stick the pins to their plates. I am particularly pleased with the handle. Excuse the rustic paint job; I was too close, it was windy and I did it in situ, just to slow the rustification a little.
