I'm using the Denkovi IP relays https://denkovi.com/smartden-modules?CurrencyID=5

I've used them for a few years for various heating projects.

In this case I have the IP relay operating another relay that turns the extractor off and on. The same device has 8 relays, 5 of them are in the pic and turn on the heating in the barn or another outbuilding we call the goat house has it used to house goats

This was yesterday evening - a roof onto the stables

The mounted this hay rack the missus acquired into the stables, note the hinges on the wall...

A feeding hatch for the hay rack - the bale of hay is to the left so saves walking around the wall.

And then some off-grid lighting, a couple of spare 12/24V LED floodlights I had for vehicles, an old battery and even a small solar panel charger the previous owners left with the ride-on-mower.

Do the tramlines end up in exactly the same place next year or do they vary?

Depends on the field, that one has one decent straight edge so always drill it from the same side and put tramlines in the same place, other fields where we can drill from each side they vary.

Carb needs a clean and rebuild. Sadly the piston is junk, cylinder is marked but I can’t feel them with my fingers. Replacing both. Hoped to keep as much of it original as I could.

You can use oven cleaner to remove the aluminium transfer off the cylinder wall. Once the transfer has been cleaned off a quick 'hone' with some 400grit wet and dry, and the original cylinder will be to be re-used.

I used to fix saws professionally and have never had an OE cylinder that has had the actual bore damaged in a seize. The plated bores are very resilient and far tougher than the piston so what you feel on the cylinder is molten aluminium stuck to the wall rather than gouges out of it. Chinese replacement cylinders are a complete lottery, most of them being rubbish. If you must get a replacement cylinder then Meteor are ok, I tend to use Meteor pistons for rebuilds.

No power ...... Thanks you've just reminded me to check the standby genny is Ok & run it for 1/2hr then to get the empty 47kg propane replaced with a full one as well as refill a 22 litre jerry can with Fuel Saver added petrol .

today I made a bit of progress on the lamp project
I went to see @doubleboost a while back to Identify the the threads in the lamp holder, he said npt but then ran a 1/4 bsp tap through .

and kindly gave me the tap . which meant I could use any bsp fitting to attach the holder

Tig brazed on and the chain to the jack base

not overly happy with the brazing but it'll dress up . there was a largeish void and broken off piece of casting on the back of the base so I silicone bronzed that to , more dressing to do ! I was struggling to see very well even though the helmet was on auto it still seemed way to dark .
As we stand

got some oak worktop for the base and what to do for a possible shade
the silicone bronze courtesy of DB as well .

That small, it looks like it was originally a bedroom fireplace.

At least one aunt had a coal fire with a swingng plate, so you could move a kettle from warm and adjacent to over the fire to boil .

Its a standard 16 inch fire. I can remember my Grandma having a thing much the same. Even when she got a new fangled cooker she still used the fire as an extra hotplate.

I was just thinking tonight that a tea cosy is going to be handy soon, I can see them becoming popular again with the colder days (and nights) and the wearing of more jumpers becoming the norm.
