I put high density insulated wriggly tin covered in plastisol on my garage roof and added a 4x3 beam at the top end to get a bit more slope with another cut to dimensions in the middle .

I think that's the same one my uni had, I never used it myself but my friend's had some steel bits chopped out on it, very impressive bit of kit for the footprint.

waterjet cutting? Electrolytic etching would be a big deal.

It’s the fact it is self contained and you can have it in a clean workshop without water going everywhere.
I’d love an industrial one or a laser but they take up a lot of real estate.
This fits in 3’ square floor space essentially
