Managed to red oxide and paint the brackets with an old tin of smoothrite satin finish using more of a dabbing technique to get a rough finish.

So today I've organised it as good as I could do.
It still experimental I'll have to make foam organisers once found the best location for the tools
Since doctor gave me a week from work cause of my kidneys I've spent my days cleaning and rebuilding my chainsaw , because I've had no time during the past months and I've got parts in January .
So a complete new engine Husqvarna 142 (40cc instead of the original 36cc on my saw)
Cleaned the transfers , reduced squish , cut higher exhaust port, mirror polished the exhaust port.
Modified muffler .
Used engine sealant on every single gasket or rubber parts on the engine to prevent air leaks .
New impulse pipe,new intake boot ,new intake ,new fuel line,new fuel filter,new carb ,new spark plug new chain ,oil pump.
I've already started and it seems to work ,still have to tune it and to break in (1 tank at idle,1 tank sporadic revs ,2 tank sporadic load and unload ) hopefully it will last .
This last image shows the muffler opening which has been enlarge , and the engine bolts which fasten it to the tank .
I've added lock washers and lock nuts and tighten everything because vibrations made them loose in the other engine causing problems
Tomorrow I'll start it up and adjust the carb on my little jonsered 2036(40) turbo (the chainsaw in this pictures)

After around 6 months of swearing Ive finished my oak tool chest! Made from offcuts from a local timber merchant which had to be ripped on my bandsaw which was an absolute nightmare. Its a long way from perfect but it works and it'll last hopefully

also all the knobs were turned from stock on my lathe which is why they're a bit wonky

My partner cut out a stencil on her cricut machine and then used a dremel to etch the shapes, it worked pretty well to be honest I was very impressed
Well there's so something else I never knew I needed until now. This place is going to be the end of me.

The discovery that the Jerry can nozzle fits the hoover hose! The original end is so worn down from years of hoovering rubble etc. Always a pita finding the nook & cranny tool and taping it on anyway.
Keep meaning to get laddo to print an adapter but haven't gotten around to it. This is a good stop gap. The fuel nozzle is both long and flexible.

Putting fittings and valves on bits of pipe. They will eventually become the ports/outlets in 2 little product mixing tanks.
I tend to steer away from pipework usually, but always a nice surprise when you take the tape off to see the insides looking like that.

I did my first "proper" pipe job the other day and I was really pleased the way it turned out. (surprised too). I have always body swerved pipes but it has given me a bit of confidence, not that I am going to rush out and start tigging up any stainless any time soon!
Anyhow, my efforts today. Now that the reamer has arrived I can get on and finish a job off. This is how I centre the job in the four jaw. Now I have seen all sorts of setups and know at least one barrel builder who uses a "cat" type chuck. That is, a biggish bit of pipe with rows of screws down it so you put the barrel in then spend the rest of the day getting it set up, this is my method. Any gun barrel will not have the bore exactly concentric to the outside so you need a means of setting the bore of the barrel up and I have a set of rods that go from .22 up to .45inch. The ends of the rods are ground and a tight tolerance bushing is fitted, held on with a miniature circlip so you can find a bush that is a tight fit down the bore. one end is held in the tailstock chuck and the other end goes into the bore, I start near the end and then do it again with the rod about 2 to 3 inches down the bore. I set a clock or two up (tenths) and then the fun begins. I have rushed this once and scrapped a £350 blank so I just don't and I take my time, if I run out of time, I leave it and come back to it. I also get extremely short with people on the phione when I am doing this, getting it roughly there:

This can be a slow torture but once set up I can get on and start chambering, PLENTY of Rocol:
The trick here is lots of patience, small cuts, out, clean, start again, rinse, repeat, then you end up with something like this:
I am not 100% happy with the headspace so I may adjust it after triple checking it tomorrow.

Yes, it is an AR 15 in 6mm ARC and as you can see, radial bolt head, we can only have them in a "straight pull" format as civilians (no semi auto other than .22 rimfire) and this bolt format works really well in that configuration.
