No.
Stoped by a loony on the way to Turo. Turned up the brass. Today when I got home and had the seals in a jiffy bag.
I fitted the springs, crimped the ends and washed them in meths.

2 will fit engines I have. One is a possible rebuild in the near future.

Today I made a schoolboy error . I ordered a couple of V-block clamps off eBay without checking they'd fit my blocks....they don't. One is just too small, the other too large...

Now I'm stuck with them, useless ornaments. Note to self: measure and ask questions before buying.

God was an optimist, his 'great creation' was doomed from the start. Maybe if He/She hadn't taken a day off [or not spilled his coffee on the blueprints] it would have been perfect.

Another day spent doing metal fabrication at work.
Almost welded my first hydraulic cylinder .
But I didn't because once asked to do it I've answered that I still not feel confident to take those liabilities because I'm still learning and knowing the welder and I do prefer to wait later down the road,so it's better that someone more experience than me weld it instead.
Anyway received firsts gratifications for my welds from the bosses
Expecially on thinner stuff .

I made a Delrin seal for the radiator air bleed plug on the 90.
A bit of turning in the S&B and hey presto no more air pockets forming in the rad

Some casement hooks,one end screws into the oak frame,the hook drops thru an eye on the window,I’ll post the windows next week.

Swapped the bearings on the mini lathe to angular contact, pvc pipe happening to be the perfect size for pulling it into the housing.

And finished my modifications to the mill bearing blocks so they actually have bearings now and are worthy of that name!





Hoover floating on the end of the spindle bore via the suction worked well for keeping the chips out of the way so I could see the progress.





Then made the spacers to account for what I had removed and spread the load on the bearings better.





Assembled minus handle.

Never pull a bearing into a housing by the inner race.

Been busy in the cave these last couple of days. If you take one of these....

add a bit of this

and a bit of this to act as a tight fit bush

you end up with this.....

Keeps a fellow busy and the brain active.....which is nice. ​
