Same as me - I’m thinking it could be an excuse for a 3d printerI have two broken Verdict dti but I don't have a 3d printer! I would gladly pay for a couple of them as the gauges are useless without the lever

Grille fitted, not simple - the stone surround is not square, and thus neither is the window - all a few degrees out unlike my ace workmanship
gave the customer a choice - the grille bars can be vertical, or they can align with your shonky window, she chose the latter, fair enough. I’d have knocked down the back wall of the house and made it square again but that’s just me

Decided to work on my tool post mount. The m14x1.5 thread I cut in the base was far too sloppy fit on the orginal stud. Started with m20 8.8 threaded bar. Interesting pattern, seems to have a spiral hardened layer.
Test fit after 8 passes, perfect. Proper m14x1.5 would have needed another pass.
The nut end was a pain, I think the nut has a tight spot but only one way around and once past, its perfect.
Just finished eating a beef stir fry. I bought two lots of beef, picked up one slow cook type by mistake, so thats bubbling away on the hob for a few hours for tomorrows dinner.

Window grilles are quite common here, even more so in Spain and Italy, I wouldn’t want them though for the reason you cite.

I think it’s a crime thing - insurers insist we have to have shutters or grilles on every door and window and use them - claims are invalid if you leave the house for more than 24 hours without closing them; there has just been a court case here and the insurer won.

Our insurer tried (unsuccessfully), to insist the same.
But, I feel the same, that's it's too much of a fire safety compromise to make.
Perhaps our insurance could be invalidated, but I'd rather be alive.

Given it takes a not so long time to die from smoke inhalation . . . and it takes a bit longer for the fire brigade to arrive, work out whats what, and that you are on the floor the other side of barred window . .. Hope they are high tensile no6 screws going in thereconnectors for a wooden staircase with a central spine
