I used some little L brackets to fasten the clock.

A few weeks ago I got this Husqvarna Ice cream maker. For no other reason it looked like an interesting restoration project.
It was worse than the images show.
The crank handle would onlt turn 1/3 of a turn.
I wish this image could tell how long this took to get to this stage.
At some point some one had inserted glue into the tongue and grove staves. This had distorted the bucket.
The image does really show the slight curve on the sides of the bucket.
So each stave was given a chalk number, the three base staves were as well.
Knocking the rusty rings off allowed me to remove the glue and clean the joints.
Then assembly.
You need three hands.
The rings were so bad they were thinning out as you re fixed then, hence the cable ties. When the joints are snug it is soaked in water and alcohol.
This will swell the wood. Then it is allowed to dry in air, soaked in Meths. This will dry out the surplus water and leave the wood in a stable condition.
Many thanks to a Cooper from the Old Ushers brewery for the tips and advice.
New rings made, by a friend.
Milk, cookies coffee needed?
The bucket is now water tight.
I ground a corner of a old screwdriver to fit the rings, this allowed them to me coaxed into the original positions. This took a few days.
As the wood settles, you can move the rings more.
The metal parts cleaned up, the alloy will be painted with food grade paint.
The steel parts were chrome plated in my plating kit.
A week in the solution.
Silver leaf, to be honest, it is not that good. It will be redone.
Refitting the parts.
my local Hardware shop still stocks, steel C/sunk Slotted headed imperial screws, at a good price.
The wax is still soaking into the wood. The finish is getting better after each buffing.

I did yes, but.
Yes there is a but.
The bucket is water tight, but when turning the paddles to churn the mix.
The churn has sprung a lot of micro leaks.

Did the churn wipers damage the chrome on the internal bucket ?

No, the rust did, when I removed the rust it must off exposed holes.
The chrome has filled them, but it still leaks.
It may need a coat of 2 pack eproxy

Another one from yesterday.
Silver soldered the snapped off head of a burr into a 6mm shank. 6mm means it wont pull out the collet like the 3mm's always do.
Took ages, as silver solder and wet flux, in a hole expands as it gets hot. So does dry flux. It took a few attempts!
Holder done.
But theres a problem..
It seems that CPMT09 inserts are one of those obscure sizes I warned about. They are generally used in milling holders?
The pocket is slightly smaller and less tall, which means the screw is not centred. The pocket is also milled flat, rather than the normal 15 degrees for a boring bar. No problem, I can rotate it.
It would be very easy to adjust, or I could buy the correct inserts. I could silver solder another insert pocket on the other end, too.
If anyones interested the normal s20-sclcr bar weighs 430 grams, the carbide sclpl weighs 800g.

I got this Meccoan Army kit yesterday, so I had to build a model from it.
The reason I brought the kit, was a simple one.
I had it when I was a smaller human, as did a few members on here.
I chose this one, as it was the first one I built when I was younger.
The keen eyed members will spot that it is not 100% finished, I am 6 nuts short.
I will get some next time I go past a traditional toy shop.

I hope your gate is the only way for Joe Public to access the town wall - we all know how careless/stupid he can be and you'll not want to be peeling the remains off those round bars.
You'd be forced to repaint them......

We had Meccano as kids but were never bought the 'kits'
- use your imagination and design your own. 
EDIT: Maybe I'm just too old for the kits to have been thought of.....

I also remember how those damned grub screws in the brass collets never stayed done up, and the day the dog chewed the plastic red handle on the screwdriver....lot more painful building things after that!
