Finished the leatherwork on the seats and the rear 'perch'. Brake balancing, engine tuning and then a few odd jobs to go. Then I have to sell it.

Lots of aggro trying to turn it from 6V with a 3-brush dynamo to a 2-brush with 12V. Difficulty finding suitable headlamp lenses, problems converting the regulator etc..

Builder asked me to attach these galvanised beams to an RSJ buried in a wall,he’d already cut pockets,and half the flange for me to attach a plate to,which the S/E had issued a drawing to effect it.
Not much access,had to bend the electrodes.

My Chrysler 318 V8 cam with an assortment of aftermarket aluminium pulleys, not all of which were for a Chrysler.
One of the issues with 60/70's Chryslers is that there was a plethora of pulley offsets depending on a host of things. Guess what, yup, my pulleys were not close to a set. I also want to fuel inject it at a later date with a home built manifold.
First job was to make a spacer for the crank pulley to align it with the water pump and alternator (new Lucas, brackets by me). Then it was clocked in the four jaw and the added piece skimmed so it was true. I had bought a trigger wheels 36-1 pilot bored wheel, this was bored to suit. The whole lot is screwed together.

Made a bracket for the crank sensor out of some 13mm ally I had lying about.

It all sits on this.

well it's all @8ob fault... he did have to show a means of heating the ultrasonic tank that had to be copied.... thanks for the idea..

took a bit longer than planned, well the installation was quick enough, but the deep fat fryer was sitting beside the tank for months... anyway, have a bank of carbs to do so that motivated me... we now have a turbo charged 30 litre ultrasonic tank. Have deliberately used the original chip pan mount, which slides up and down, so I can remove it when it's up to temperature. Not sure how the heating element would stand up to direct contact with high frequency vibrations, so made it removable. not really a problem with the original mount it takes seconds to raise it.. then I can switch on the normal ultrasonic heater to maintain the temp as necessary.

heating time has reduced from several days ( well ok 3+ hours) to a far more usable 30 minutes.. off to drain the water out, clean it and see why the temp isn't reading correctly.... maybe dislodged something puting it back together.

good to know... wasn't sure, so err'd on the side of safe, especially as it's not a high quality industrial element, only a cheap chip heater....

I wanted to use up my argon bottle, resumed the table..

Quite happy with the tig. I need a lot more practise. I cut a tungsten in half and tried using the glass cup, and the wp9 pen torch. Pen wins, but Id forgotten my other torch head is a flex, so will try that next time.
Then I ran out of gas - really should have tacked the rest first!

Not so happy with arc, tube fillets are a challenge. Plus something moved. I will cut it off and tig when I get a fresh bottle.

Started a refurb this outdoor display unit recently to show the summer items at the toy shop, only metal work was making some gusset plates to fix the wheels on and cleaning up rusty chrome grid wall in the apertures, It makes a good eye catching display

Made a pickaxe this morning.
Or better put an handle on it (both new bought this morning)
Made a test fit this,made it fit as best as possible.
Then heated up the eye with a propane torch , until it stopped smoking (oils from the hardening process) ,drived the handle using the pickaxe weight itself , I've then used an hammer to finish it up .
Then quenched to make the eye shrink on the handle.
I was wondering to put a stainless steel thing to protect the handle near the head but ,I didn't want to break out the welder and the grinder or whatever thing Id have needed to make the thing.
I can still make it just for aesthetical purpose.
Surely I will apply linseed oil on the handle, maybe an hole to hang it on a needle

That was definalty 6013 , However I do want to try 7018 now my welder can run it

I think you'll be happy with them , I've practically banned 6013 from my welding adventures

Made a start on loading up the shelves in my new mancave store room with all the gear I have been tripping over, if there is enough shelving I should have the original mancave functioning again by the end of the weekend and have cleared the floor of the mancave extension so I can get the last bits finished off

Today (and yesterday) I made a 12mm drawbar for my new ER32 chuck. I got to use my 5C spin indexer and 5C to ER32 adapter, that I made last year, for the first time.

Very pleased with the result. Turned from a solid piece of 20mm EN16T
