I think if I was ever daft/brave enough to be hanging from a rope I would be testing everything myself, I don't really trust myself let alone anyone else when it comes to my danger

I made a £3 straight razor a lot sharper.

A quick test its still not as sharp as it should be.

What Razor is that Kram ? Gold dollar or something Chinese ? I use nothing else but a straight, lovely shave, but it is slow compared to anything else.

I read quite a few reviews looking for one that was ready to shave, but they were all mixed, so I went with the cheapest for £3.79 expecting it would need some work.

If I can get a good shave with these I'll buy something decent, once I know what Im doing. So far, not sharp enough to go against grain, the blade just wants to stop. The disposable shavette works but get lots of small cuts and iritation from it.

I don't have a picture but it was only a small weld anyway. I set up on the bench and welded a couple of plugs into a couple of tubes. Mild steel using 316 rod.
So what?
Well, I set it up and did the job without buggering about or really thinking about what I was doing, I did it quickly and neatly. The tubes are .470" diameter and less than half a mil thick. I didn't blow holes, need a second go or need to sharpen tungstens. I just did it without really thinking, bearing in mind I haven't used the Tig in about three weeks. Very pleased with myself I was.

Haha, yes but remember that chemical resin anchors aren't tensioned until the resin has already set. So if it hasn't set properly, the anchor just pulls straight through when tightened

That's why you use in date resin capsules and use the supplied /available data sheet for hole sizes , whether you need an insert & the temperature / time curing chart to ensure the resin is fully cured . i found them fanatic for porous crumbly thermal block or soft stone fixings

No piccy's , the camera is hiding some where in my mancupboard . ( The Bstd , its been hiding there for the last month or so )

I have to give myself a daily " sugar removal from my blood" self administered injection every morning around 08.15hrs when I'm still a bit groggy from the previous early evenings meds.
I've a sneaky feeling I've missed at least two of these injection . I'm also concerned that I may one day also give myself two doses and suffer some serious overdose effects that if caught in time will see me hospitalized VSI .

So I've drilled an 8 inch length of 35x35x 3 mm right angle aluminium with seven equidistance spaced 7.5 mm holes to allow me to load it up with seven days of needle packs ( which I've now labelled on the alu top face as Sun to Sat ). This enables me to see at a glance if I'm using the right days needles . Any thoughts of is it the right day I can just open up the computer and check the day of the week .
Once it's been emptied of needle pack it's a simple case of refilling the rack with new needle capsules for the next week.

Seriously, I have an old bread crumb insect powered push button clamshell phone that is usually in need of charging as I only use it when I want to call someone when I'm out and about .
For me when at home the computer is the best way of finding the right day & date . .

Cut some aluminium tube cut up and put some of it into the mill and milled out the ends.

Then cut some plates on the plasma.

Welded them together using my adjustable welding bench

Then fitted it to the boat, MCA coming tomorrow for an inspection and gunwale has to be 1m high or rails to 1m.

The alert ones will see I have more pads (also more stanchions) than on the rail itself, that is because the skipper whatsapp'd me sized but turns out it wasn't needed so long

stuff made today, well does a pile of rubbish count.? Bought a dozen inner tubes for tractor tyres for stock summer last year. Typical sizes, arrived nicely folded and bundled / tied together in the box, so left them like that. Went to get one today, it was split all the way along the fold, bugger says I, get another one, the same..... 7 out of 12 fit for the bin.... somehow they have deteriorated being stored in the box, out of sunlight and dry stored all cracked and split.. the bigger ones seemed to have faired better. inflated them and tested ok...fortunately the size I needed, one was ok...

Will need to order more, but this time will inflate them partially when the arrive and store them flat but not folded..... not a happy bunny...

I’ve had that with a cycle inner tube, carried it in good faith, took it out to repair a flat & it was split right around the fold, actually came apart into two pieces. Luckily I had patches & repaired the fitted one.

exactly teh same, right at the fold, split clean as you like.... it's not the cost, wasn't that dear, more the inconvenience, have to order more in, just lucky I had one of the right size left..

right in the middle of the yorkshire dales. two f!king hours walk to the nearest train station and then a train to skipton for a replacement inner tube.#
I had TWO puncture kits (6(?)+ patches) plus two spare tubes - both split
