I used to visit car and bike dealers who had their parts dept running the same system It worked well until the storeman went sick and the dealership couldn't operate. Not the same situation as yours but used to make me smile.Oh bother.
My way is to have it organised in such a way only I know were anything is.

I bolted my "walkabout " vice to an old van brake disc and the when I want it secure I just use a couple of G clamps to whatever surface is handy.View attachment 274490
Bending some alu sheet for a pcb enclosure. Vice bender put plenty of scratches into the annodising and I need a removable way of bolting the vice to lathe bench.
Also swept the floor - I know where everything is, and it wasnt in the bit I swept! (Dropped some inserts last week)
I only re-organised because we moved house. Now I have to figure out where everything lives again, hence the labels. Please don't EVER be tempted to have a re organisation Its a sure way to Insanity. I did it at the beginning of all this virus thingy and I now know where everything USED to be.
I done that before and put them up for £70. No one was interested at that price which meant earning about £10 an hour I thought why bother.Looks really good, I've made a few but never polished them up like that, looks much more striking.Next time I'm home I might try to knock a batch out and see what I can get for them on Etsy.
That's why I've never done it before but I reckon making ten at a time I could do them a bit quicker. Would probably save a bit of time starting with annealed sheet rather than 22mm water pipe too.I done that before and put them up for £70. Would you mind if I showed my wife this photo? It might work ...... Or not.

Just had a thought, there's probably money doing metal versions of trendy houseplants, people sell cuttings, literally single leaves, for upwards of fifty quid because they're slightly more variegated than the plant usually is!
The clamp has started working lose when in use so the router blade drops down when taking a cut, machinist jack is my temporary work around
I've got one of those little cheapo lifting tables from the bay that I use to support my router. Not only stops it slipping but makes adjustment a doddle. The clamp has started working lose when in use so the router blade drops down when taking a cut, machinist jack is my temporary work around
