That's the cheap part, it's the tens of thousands on the ceremony, owls flying the rings down the aisle, orchestras, fanciest venue that can be found, gold plated horse and carriage to the venue, foreign stag/hen do and all that followed by the interest on the debt for the next 20 years, oh and not forgetting the cost of the divorce, which usually happens quicker than the loan for the wedding is paid off

15 August 1966 my first wedding costs beside the licence was £10 worth of sandwiches served in the old whitewashed out building of the pub ...no honeymoon straight back out to BAOR Germany to the middle of a wood on exercise for six weeks playing soldier games three days later ..... one of which was spent travelling . Met up with my wife again 5 Nov 66 .. the whole marriage turned out to be a very damp squibb.

I lived in hope ... My lay preacher Maiden Aunt kind of summed things up after my ex wife left me with two kiddies in March 1984 four years after I got crippled in in HMF

" Now you know the difference between wet fish on the fish mongers marble slab and a piece of golden battered fresh fish in front of you , enjoy each other , be who ever you want to be with each other".

Can truly say re marrying a soul mate is the best decision I've ever made & it gets looked at & polished daily by both of us .

Hahaha. I got married 10ish years ago. Thankfully neither of us wanted a big wedding. Small ceremony and lunch with a few friends and family, then a big pissup in a pub's upstairs room.

One of my mates was moaning that he'd just spent 20k on his wedding and our's was just as good

And we're done! Last of the bolts I needed arrived. When the eBay seller I bought the wheels off found out what they were for he was a bit upset as these inline skate wheels are classic wheels from 1997; he tried to offer me newer ones but I wanted the natural colour!

Just need to start a deep hollow form now...

A big wooden stamp... finished off just now. Not really sure why, just fancied doing it

And a bit more on the stirring arms I was doing a course of weeks ago, paddles that help turn the product over.
Bit more polishing to do yet to get them up to spec.

I made this work again. Was at it yesterday for a while. Stripped it, cleaned it, oiled it, freed the piston. Got bored. Got back at it tonight. Couldn’t get it to spark whilst it was in bits, must of been doing something wrong. When it was put back together it worked, perfectly

Today I've made an octopus hook out of a 10mm 316 stainless steel all thread rod.
Made a rudimental lathe using a drill,my brother in-law and another drill .
Shaved part of the threads using my angle grinder .
It's amazing how stainless steel retains heat ,it became red hot under the flap disc .
Cut it to length ,then used a propane torch to heat it prior to bend ,it became red in maybe 30 seconds .
Unfortunately I can't show any pictures of it because something went wrong while applying heat shrink tubing on the foam handle .
It took shape and sizes of .... Well not a family friendly thing but more like the tool required to make a family .
Fortunately it's for a friend who is more like a brother ,so we will laugh a lot .
But I will try to make another handle because it's embarrassing

Side panel to finish off a gate done a few weeks ago

brackets to fit heating system on as they wanted something a bit nicer than unistrut for looks

yard entrance customers putting a fence up now he has a starting point

gates to keep the father in law happy

and replaced a post and rehung gates for one the lads after he caught the gate with a 13ton .
Wasn’t all in one day but was a good week last week
