Heavy duty ground anchor for the motorbikes whilst the workshop is being built. 10mm plate base, 40x40x4 SHS, m12 throughbolts into the concrete 75mm deep, nuts welded to the plate, total cost £0 all from the scrap bin and much stronger than the offerings online which tend to use a ball bearing tapped into the head of a torx bolt.

Did you know John lattaway,from Multiform machinery ,Southend? He called in once and told me it is a Ufb3? and said I need a piece of small channel on the front to give more leverage,to bend 3mm,which I duly did,I’d love a handbook for it.

This week's highlight birch tree this the initial formative prune in about 5 years it will look cracking. Time and trees go hand in hand

I thought that was a Morgan with a swing out top beam but it’s not. They’re super rare.

had a couple of ops now but still not good unfortunately. Haven’t been over much due to vivid

No Pulley puller? No problem. A scrap piece of uni strut, a few bolts and a bit of jiggery pokery. Pulley be gone!!

Today I got the other two stub shafts welded in to the plates then all 4 back on the lathe to face off both sides, reduce the OD to 218.5mm and a step of 6mm down to 211.8mm. Tapped them into the tubes and welded up the two rollers.

Got asked for some more lobster gauges and also some crab gauges.

Also measured up for a job that I will be doing Feb/March next year. A shelter deck and a hopper/lifting gantry. Started modelling up the hopper/gantry in Fusion.

A few replacement panels on a calf creep,this time with 1.6mm sheets instead of the miserly 0.8mm,that reminds me I need an anti-lose chain on that lid bolt,really should’ve taken a photo of the feeding side.

Today I nearly finished my garden hose reel.











These things always take longer than I think.
It's the little details that take the time, the handle, the bushes, the water inlet and outlet etc.
I found a few inches of stainless pipe, but not enough for the whole axle so I joined it to steel pipe with dissimilar rods so the water is only going through the stainless pipe.
I lined and welded it in the lathe to get it reasonably straight.



Also sealed all the ends to stop it rotting from the inside.





Just need to paint it now (and finish prepping it)
I'm very pleased with my surface perperation tool.
This is half the drum done and half not.

Today I made 5 legs

Made out of a bar of 20 mm diameter 303 stainless. The ends are at 75° rather than 90° and (hopefully) parallel to each other. One end of each is tapped M5, perpendicular to the face so not parallel to the body. Hopefully all the same length!

Floor primed with 2:1 leveller:sbr, wanted to level it tonight but taking ages to dry.
