Looks good.
I've never been keen on the bottom up air blast though - since i melted some pushbike bits and they went down the tuyere and blocked it completely.
I had to cut it up with the angry grinder to clear it.
£30 of 2" iron fittings down the swannie.

It's my OH's birthday on Monday. She casually mentioned on Thursday that it would be nice if I made her some "pattern weights" for sewing (for holding down the pattern while marking out or something ). Basically some lumps of metal or other heavy stuff, somewhere in the 70-100 gram area. She emphasised that she didn't expect me to make them in time for her birthday, but I thought it was worth a go anyway as they're not a complicated thing to make.

Rather than just making what are essentially thick washers, I decided to give them some very rounded edges and drill a hole through the middle. That hole meant that I could also make a stand for them out of some walnut & stainless steel. It was nice to have an excuse to get the lathe up and running again as it's been a while since I had a project that needed that much turning.

The finished article - just needs a bit more time for the finish on the wood to dry and then I'll wrap it up:

I have seen a few designs online that have a fan mounted right below it blowing up but I went with the T pipe as ash and other bits will fall down and didn't want to ruin my snail fan, Going through the side would work as well however a friend of mine has a very similar forge design to this and works for him so i erm copied it

Also may get round to shifting it off the bricks and onto a proper stand but like to keep it easy to store and put away for now. Not really got the room for a freestanding one anywhere or having it out permanently

I'm needing some containers to go in the drawer cabinets I bought a couple weeks ago, so having trawled thingiverse and found nothing suitable, I spent some time today designing some containers and a grid to stop them sliding around as much, then printed them.



I may have to tweak the retaining grid slightly, but an initial test on the computer desk shows the containers stay in position reasonably well. I'll take them out and try them in the drawer cabinets tomorrow, and if they work, I can get some bigger containers designed and printed.

The missus wanted something in the cellar to store apples, we've got loads this year.

I had some carp wire baskets that I bought for the new kitchen but failed to meet the standard, plus some OSB offcuts, and some SS leg from an old kitchen cabinet.

The wife is happy, she's started losing it up, should take 2 layers per shelf, with cardboard in between. I think she wraps some in newspaper too.

It normally all goes off for chip or logs John but the timber truck that comes here couldn't pick them up so I loaded them onto the truck and took them to Guy the log

A recent project finished as an anniversary present for my wonderful wife. Myself and my colleague Jack welded up the legs which are 3MM wall 80mm x 40mm section, TIG welded with the Parweld XTM 211di. The top is made from olive wood and metallic blue resin to give a "river style" look and was made by a close friend of mine. Turned out very well I must say!

Looks great! A friend of mine did a resin table recently, not a quick job or cheap either.

That’s almost identical to mine! Only difference is mine has legs instead of bricks!
