personally I like the lifetime warranty and the fact Iv worn a Halfords 8mm 1/4 socket and my snapon one still works is testament to them

Lifetime warranty on PBSwiss tools is far better
Also Knipex has a good customer service ,if for some reason the plastic slips out your pilers they istantanuosly send you a new pair

are those the thick poly ones?

I think so
I've used a Grinding one but it didn't perform as the seller advertised

That's good to know, not that any of my pliers are showing any signs of wear after years of light abuse.
Didn't know PB Swiss did a lifetime warranty either, I like the look of them but like the price of Wera much more.

try doing that when you havent bought from a dealer and watch what happens then

snapon do refuse to adher to its warranty on goods

you need a good relationship with them as my local chap is brilliant even with screwdrivers used as a punch or pry bar

With a lick of paint I think it will look ok but that was a remarkable amount of work for very little effect.
However it's great having a lathe, I don't know how I managed all these years without one.

But the first time you open the sunroof, that little deflector pops up, and you continue on your un-ruffled way - that'll be when it's worth it.

Never had a sunroof on another car that was as good as the one on the 75.

yet on the flip side ive broken snapon sockets just for the dealer to tell me "youve abused that for it to break like that so were not changing it" so they went in the bin.
same with snap "off" breaker bars, they never warrentied the knuckle, the only bit that contiunally broke as they classed it a fair and tear item.
so i bought a halfords one that is still going (although a little bent) 15 years later.
i still have snapon ratchets as i do like them but when the ratchet mechanism finally does let go i reckon that will probably end up in the bin too.

First job of the day, new plug on the welder. Should be mennekes on everything in the workshop now

Much better than the eBay special I've got on my drills;

It's not some weird camera effect, it's about five milimeters wider than it is tall and really needs wrestling into the socket, I actually had to bend the pins straight a few months ago. No idea how it happened, I've got two of them the same, both been hung over a hook for years so they've not been stood on or squashed. I think it's a Mennekes I've got on my lathe, whatever it is it's branded and it's what I'll

16A 230V are around 2.30 euros
16A 415V around 4 Euros
Obviously IP 44

Try ROSI it's an Italian brand not too much expensive as Gewiss(another Italian brand)
I like them for both quality and looking appearance, they are easy to install too

Got this roof thing up today, it's the space between the garage and the shed where my outside bench lives. There was a roof there when we moved in but the plastic had bleached completely opaque and it was much lower. Finally rebuilt it, much sturdier this time. Need to sort a gutter which is gonna be a pain, the bench top will be in the way of the downpipe.

This brass plant food sprayer was acquired by me the other day. I had a good look in the shop and apart from the damaged handle all seamed good.

So we had it in bits.




The one on the right had some funds spent on it. So the pump cup washer, NRV and nozzle seals were liberated and fitted on the new to me one.



It is not wise to polish the pump body with a polishing mop as the heat will, or could allow the solder to melt.
I know, been there. Had to fix my mishap. Beside no one should see it.



Polished and sealed.

Works now, not for plant food. But TYA weed killer.

This Bucket pump was acquired by me, a test at the shop showed it worked, but what seamed to be a cup washer or a seal issue.



Bit odd, an extra leg.



No seals used in the original build. Horse hair and pitch had been used. I found the remains. But the "Ball seal" was intact. So modern seals were used on the threads.

The Cup washer was in good condition as was the top seal.

So we started the clean up.



Big frost crack.

But, this time I had plan.

Fresh coffee.



A old, very dead blow torch was cut up to give me a strip of suitable brass.
Then using a paraffin blow torch was used to solder the patch on. It always looks a mess afterwards.




Bit of "Distressing" and it has got an older look.




Just need a length of hose, suitable for the look.

The hunt is on.
