There's no such thing What you might save on the purchase price, you'll spend MANY times over in getting/keeping her running properly. They ARE fun though...like a go-cart on steroids.

Well done on passing the test. My Sister-in-Law had a [petrol] Micra as a 'run around' and I had a drive of it - a surprising thing....a bit like the Tardis.

The spring return reel:
Does it have to be fully unwound to use at 16A?

This one is 10A max, it says on the side 1920W wound, 2400w unwound. They make a 16A reel but sit down before you check the price!

How much did the whole outfit cost if you don't mind telling?

The connectors are about 7 pounds each from Farnell or RS, my dad saved the reel before it went in a skip so it cost me nothing but it's a Marcaddy, looks like the same one is about £250 new! Never had one before so I don't know how it compares to a cheap one.

I am reasonably sure they are not PTFE as it is the wrong application for that plastic. I suspect they may be HDPE, which is relatively cheap as engineering plastics go and can be machined very easily with hand, wood and metalworking tools. The thick chopping boards from closed-down restaurants are also a good source.

On Pallfinger and Epsilon they were PTFE.
As there a HSE warning in case of a fire.

Yes I think it is HDPE as the material isn't particularly slippery to touch, I will get the extensions separated and have a looksie what dimensions they need to be, the parts supplier hasn't got back with a price but I dare say that they can be made for a fraction of the price.

I had a mk1 punto 60 for my first car and I loved it to bits, had it for two years. I do believe Fiat put more effort into making their sub-70hp cars fun to drive specifically because of the young driver rules

Wish to see this quick detachable cord system on every tool .

I’ve got a B & D professional angle grinder with a detachable lead, it must be 30+ years old now, still works well, soft start & all. The lead is broken in the plug, I’ve taped it up & it works at the moment, but a new plug is the price of a cheap angle grinder.

Here in Sardinia there are plenty of MK2 pandas starting from the 750cc up to the 1200cc and even the 4wd variant.
I'd go with the MK3 one
My father has the MK4 (new model introduced in 2003)
My father use to have a fiat 126 650cc it was capable of wheele if you are quick changing gears (something like Toretto's charger)

Fiat Panda , Uno, Tipo, Punto and 500 are the most traditional Italian cars .

The original B & D is moulded, new plug was about 20 Euro last time I looked, if it goes again, it will get wired direct, someone on here showed a photo of one with a conduit gland fitted, I had a look, but couldn’t see how to fit one without giving it major surgery.

While the weather hasn’t been very favourable, I decided to put my newest grinder to work.
been wanting a chop saw for a while but I also wanted a 9” grinder, just because. So I tried to do a two birds one stone type job and make a cutting stand for the grinder. Overall it seems to have gone ok, bit of cutting welding and square it up.

Cuts a max in one go of 40mm box, 50x75 angle and of course will do bigger if you cut and keep turning 90 degrees until it’s through. Think it’s limit would be 100mm box or tube depending on the wear of the disc. more than accommodates me for my light fabbing work and also does mitres as the rest pivots and moves. Just needs a clever way of clamping the material but for now the g-clamp does a fine job.

Hole punch turned up today so I made some 20mm holes in 12mm plate

It's on a temporary air over hydraulic pump that goes with my bead breaker, pump can only just do it.

Not sure on the punch life expectancy Ashley, it's a suck it and see job. I suppose I had better order a spare set just in case.

If theyre as good as the geka type punches and dies, you'll get hundreds and hundreds of holes.
The punches usually wear first, 2 punches to one die roughly.

Chuck a bit of oil on them every few holes will help it no end.
