Hello, working on my 1972 Citroen DS Safari (estate) to add air conditioning. The DS cries out for air-con with all the glass. On the Safari there is an area under the rear load floor. I though I'd use it to house the condenser. Sucks up air through the floor, through the condenser and out. On my other DS I fitted the condenser in front of the cooling rad but it overheats.
So, first try with a metal folding machine and home grown Rivnut installer.

A good thing to go in front of lathes is rubber cow mats. They are 1" thick, vary in size but 6' x 4' is a common size. Expensive new but you can get them second hand for under £20 each.

Yeah; I was quoted 50 quid for a new one - when I asked if it could be cheaper because it was shop-soiled, there was no response.
Pah; the art of haggling has done gone.

Great plans to make it real simple, all wires laid out next to each other..... pah, what a joke.
As soon as you run a few wires you realise others have to go hither and yon, crossing over, back and forth....and what berk thought that having the ignition and light switch at the end of the dashboard was a good idea, so now all those wires have to cross over to the centre to the fuse box, so I had to weld a tunnel in, which isn’t quite big enough for all the wires necessary........

Still, I’ve now cable tied them into a neater bunch, (no pics) it doesn’t look too bad, but it’s yet another job that seemed so promising, so straightforward in the planning stage, but turned into a farce in the end. Situation normal for moi.

I've built a couple of stock cars & the hardest job was simplifying the wiring loom so that all I had was a basic dashboard with a few warning lights & switches.

Made even harder by the fact they were Peugeots so any wiring diagrams were meaningless, Peugeot seem to use a random system of wire colours & wire numbers!

Mine is a rebuild of a 1985 Jago T bucket hot rod, so it has to have a certain amount of legalities. It seemed simple when I started running basic wires: lights and starter....

..then I realised I needed indicator bulbs, earth wires, side lights, rear fog light, with warning light, fuel pump, ignition circuit, electric temp gauge, gps speedo, with lighting for gauges, side lights that stay on when head lights are on etc etc.
And I just thought, I might need hazard warning lights, but I think that’s 1986 and on...

And I’ve found half the wires in the Chinesium wiring ‘kit’ I bought are several feet too short....

Where do get your wiring from? I'll need some brown multicore charging wire (for the dumper about 40amp) but only seem to be able get it by the roll.

I was at a park today & the path around a kids play area was laid with what looked like bark but it was some kind of recycled rubber stuff.

They used to shred old tyres, but I don't know if that still happens.

That's triggered me. Looks like the sink needs shoving to the left 10mm or so.

Sinks not attached to anything yet. Finished is a relative term...
I stealthily kept the boxing in out of the shot as much as possible. Also the edge of the worktop isnt sealed yet.

Wasn't my imagination then.
I'm not OCD. It's just customers tend to make a fuss about paying when things like that get pulled.
