She just loves pink, and I must admit, I do like it better than some of the over the top decorated ‘rhinestone cowboy’ rigs I’ve seen. It will also really zing worn over the all black cowgirl outfit she plans to wear at the next club meeting.

It’s also been designed by yours truly to be as lightweight as possible, being about half the weight of the standard buscadero rig.

Took the day off, and played with the lathe today. No pictures (want to finish the stuff first), but I made a brass handle to replace the horrible plastic apron hand wheel handle. Nothing as technical as tapering yet, but it’s a handle, I’m happy.

Also made most of two new leather mauls for myself, just need to finish them tomorrow, along with the tailstock plastic handle.

I even drilled the holes and stuff, almost accurately.

Getting closer to finishing off the current Cat, table and rope guides are now completed.
Got lots of little bits and pieces done including some stainless Tig adaptions to the mast but still have an Alu battery box to make, which I will be cutting out on the plasma tomorrow, also a slider for the steering ram to stop it rotating and some alterations to the handrail.
Hopefully I will be finished on Monday.

That's not the first time they've done that.

Exactly ! The hole at the bottom of the cone was smaller than the roller so it needed working by hand to get it in to shape ! Very, very knowledgeable folk, make me look amateur !

Fitting the wiring to the Pantera fairing.
I tried to work with the original wiring within, but just got pee'd off with it and howked it out and threw it on the floor in disgust.
A simple thing like a headlight, two sidelights and two indicators involved some PO clown using six Scotchloks. There's no excuse for such shoddy wiring practice.
I joined new lengths on and simply soldered and heatshrunk the joints (wrapped joints, of course) so there will be no worries about the lights staying on in the dark.

Nothing beats a skilled pair of hands with years of experience for jobs like that, you'd learn more watching them guys for a few hours than you'd learn on any college course.

Yup, but if you are lucky enough to get on a course where experienced old boys are teaching, its great.
